And mine was just that the vanilla fans were also a forum minority at some point. Also many classic players were in favour of BC servers so it definitely will have a playerbase once classic is done with its content releases.
Anyway, most of classic work was put into making the systems which allows for the migration from the older system to the current one. So a BC one shouldn’t be that hard to deploy now.
The easiest one to release should actually be mop, as the infrastructure should be similar afaik. (They already switched to cloud servers back in mop right ?)
Tell that to private server players. I imagine you saw the nostalrius videos with thousands of players online?
PvE players might get bored of the same encounters, because they need new content.
What PvP players need however, is not new content but rather great class design.
I could play for 15 years in a row on a Cataclysm, MoP or even WoD server with no new content. I’d be completely fine with that and many others also would.
Because playing vs Hunters who pressed stampede and bestial wrath was so much fun in MoP? Or getting oneshot by a warrior with 5 stacks of heroic strike who then pressed all his CDs at once to crit you for 400k?
Because rogue legendaries and tarecgosa were the epiphany of “great class design” in cataclysm?
Because Claws of Shirvallah was totally fair and allowing feral druids to cast cyclone without requiring a finisher, in their catform, was genuine fun?
PvP was never balanced, has always had issues and class design fluctuated between fun (for some classes) & broken and not fun (for the same classes as mentioned before) & still broken, for pvp. I do miss PvP gear, however. I believe every pvp player does.
I wouldn’t mind wotlk servers actually because that’s where my fondest memories are everything after nah it just didn’t do it the right way for me at least.
Stopped interacting with my Garrison a few weeks after launch and I didn’t suffer from it. You’re acting as if it was a mandatory part of the game back then.
Hell, I didn’t even bother constructing it on my latest alts at the time.
