Legendaries drop system ruining random dungeons

People who are farming for specific legendary recipes will always drop group after “their” boss has been killed, so they can requeue quickly and try again.

This is not even the fault of the players, but of the system.

Wasn’t this EXACT same situation why the WoD dungeon quests from the tavern/inn were changed to also include the last boss?
Or why dungeon WQs in Legion/BFA also included the last boss as a requirement?

I thought you would have learned this lesson by now. Trying to do Theater of Pain is literally impossible right now, cause you’re 99% guaranteed to get a vengeance Demon Hunter tank who will straight up leave after Xav the Unfallen, and good luck trying to fill a tank spot after that.

How many times must something occur before you people actually learn lessons from it?

Make them guaranteed drops from mythic or w/e solution you can come up with, cause random dungeons are straight up unplayable right now.

It’s getting ridiculously frustrating, yeah. Most of the times the tanks just straight up and leave after the first boss, then the next one joins who would need that first one that’s already killed.

A pretty easy fix would be to move the legendaries to the last bossses, that way people would need to stay for the whole run if they wanted their sweet sweet loot, not leave after the 1st boss, screwing over the rest of the party.

Blizzard, did you even remotely think it through when placing legendary loot on first bosses? this is the most frustrating nonsense ever, its just constant disruption waiting for a new tank or not at all, having groups fall apart left right and centre due to leavers.

I’ve attempted four dungeons this morning, two collapsed due to tanks leaving as soon as their legendary didnt drop and the other 2 i came in to a half completed dungeon due to other leavers.

Get it fixed ASAP.

Can only agree to that. Theater of Pain is literally nothing but that, I’ve even had enough hunters leaving after 3 / 4 Bosses in Plaguefall, even though the last one is just beyond the door.

I had expected Blizzard to have learned from their mistakes in the past, but obviously I was proven wrong. But hey, three times the charm right, didn’t work the first two times, maybe the third one? Nope. Players just don’t change, and especially in random groups, most players are selfish as hell.

Please, put the Legendaries at the end of the dungeon or something, so people -HAVE TO- finish a dungeon.

Absolutely I agree with this - I am getting REALLY tired of thoughtless tanks just dropping a group after the first boss. I’m a healer on my main so I get pretty quick queues, but it’s scarcely the point.

I always offer to stay with the DPS to try to speed up finding a replacement tank, but often the tank zones in, sees where you are and just quits.

In my view this needs to be punished - harshly and quickly - because it’s simply unacceptable behaviour. I would suggest players doing this are handed a debuff prohibiting all dungeons for 24 hours, regardless of group make up. It’ll soon stop them in their tracks.

No. NO NO NO. This is absolutely the fault of the players. It is THEIR CHOICE to behave like this.

Of course it’s their choice leaving after a certain boss,

but when you’re chasing a powergain that doesn’t have a guaranteed drop on mythic 0 dungeons (which can only be done once per week) and a ridiculously low droprate on normal/heroic, would you rather spend 5 minutes (by leaving) or 25 minutes (by completing the dungeon) doing an attempt for the recipe?

Imagine having to do 50 runs to have it drop, you do the math.

It should’ve been a guaranteed drop from mythic 0 or only put recipes on end bosses to begin with.
The fact they don’t implement it like this once again proves that none or barely any or their devs actually play the game.

For myself I will complete the dungeon. I accept that is the way it goes - I will only leave a dungeon group if it’s toxic otherwise I will stay to the end regardless.

I accept the devs can (and should) have implemented the system differently, but it does not excuse the behaviour of these players. Just because you can do something, it doesn’t mean you should.

This definitely needs to be addressed. It’s getting out of hand.
First druid tank leaves, then we get DK that left after 2nd and then warrior after 3rd…I haven’t got one hero dung without one fricking leaver.
Make it drop from the last for everyone !

Just stick to M+ next week and you’ll be fine. Besides, they will get it in no-time too, double-fix.

So apparently “system” chose to delete one of my posts claiming it was reported.

Let me just sumarise again what happened yesterday on my alt;

  1. Queued as a healer
  2. Killed first boss
  3. Tank was farming legendary and left after first boss
  4. New tank joined group after FIVE minutes of waiting
  5. Tank was farming first boss so as it was dead he left too
  6. Waited another several minutes, DPS then leaves and group falls appart
  7. I leave to requeue but can’t as i have 20 minute leaver debuff

Open your eyes blizzard, your system is so broken right now its not even remotely fun to queue for dungeons.

yep - for good players path will be

ding 60 - buy 151 gear of ah - clear all 8 m0 to get to 170 itlv - go into m+ to farm rest of gear there (possibly even get into m+ earlier)

for bad players ? ouch this expansion will be ruthless.

How so? Nobody who currently farms will stick to normals, heroics and even m0s to farm their legendaries once M+ comes out. And even M0’s drop rate increased significantly. Soon most will have what they want anyways.

It will be fine, quickly.

It’s not about being fine when M+ is out (because it won’t be). It’s an incredibly bad experience for players who use the group finder.

Either shift all legendaries to last boss OR leave the current drop locations as is, replacing the actual drop with a lockbox of some sort that requires a key from the last boss.
