Legendaries in season 4 - why I'm skipping S4 entirely @Blizzard

After doing the raid every single week on LFR and normal, I didn’t get the chance to loot the legendary weapon from Fyrakk - get the quest or whatever.

Lately I was doing some M+ and I actually had in group a ret pally, 470 ilvl, with Fyr’alath the Dreamrender equipped. He did more than a decent damage. Ret paladins are scaling the damage from the weapon’s max damage, so you can understand why a 495 ilvl weapon is absolutely fantastic for retribution paladins.

In Valdrakken you can see now many players with this legendary axe.

I had in group another ret paladin about 2 weeks ago, lower ilvl (I’m 488) and that guy did almost 50 mil extra damage because he had the legendary axe.

This is VERY unfair Blizzard for the players who didn’t have the chance to loot it.
I’m in a small guild, together with some RL friends. We don’t raid. We’re only playing Mythic dungeons.

Nice way to punish the players who aren’t doing the raid content Blizzard. No wonder I didn’t login again in the past week and I guess I’ll take a longer break, for the entire S4.

I’m really sorry I paid one year of subscription and also bought the War Within expansion and I will not even play the game.

play holy or prot

If you killed Fyrakk every week in LFR from launch till now, you would’t have even gotten 1% increased chance yet. Get your Heroic kills in to get the axe.

I will probably skip s4 as nothing new seen it all before many times over. Lucky I only ever pay monthly so can stop at any time.

No one asked what? You seem like an angry dude wasting time on the forums using sarcastic remarks. What is wrong with you?

just play a class that doesn’t have a legendary
so don’t play:
Evoker
DK
Warrior
Ret

besides, if you only raid normal and do no m+ you also don’t need the legendary anyways.

I get what you mean and I hate it as much as the next guy that you have to raid to get the best stuff, but as I don’t have much of a choice, I just avoid playing the legendary classes in that season or even those that need the OP trinkets to perfom.
Luckily I am an absolute multiclasser and have no issue finding another class to play.
But still hate this raid or die mentality that this company is still pushing

yes HC raiding is easy, could I do it? Probably.
Do I want to slog through something that I absolutely don’t enjoy? Nope.

I think its the fact of the need to having it or you miss out that is the issue. A lot of people want to have every item in the game and that is a problem created by blizzard.

Plunderfarm is a perfect example of this. People hate the mode but they ‘need’ the items so they grind it out through gritted teeth.

I don’t think the legendaries are really collector items. You still can collect them in 2-3 years when the content becomes one shot material, but with blunderstorm it is time limited.

for the legendary it is really the issue that the classes are “balanced” around having the legendary to compete with other classes. Even though most people don’t do high end content, they are still bummed out if they do 10% less dmg by default for not having the axe

Werent legendaries always connected to raid content?

yeah - for sure it was because of legendary

not because you rather complain then learn how to dps

like its legendary that is stopping anyone from doing +20s

So if I understand you correctly you want to be competitive however you don’t want to raid. You want to do the top dps however you don’t want to farm bis gear. Sorry bro it’s either way.

Same thing I can say. Mythic raid weapons are bis for few specs in PvP - Fists for Enha, Mace for Ele, Polearm for Feral or Survival but sadly I won’t get them as I don’t raid mythic. You’re doing fine without it. 23+ is ok and unless you have aspiration to get close to 30+ keys you don’t need every piece of gear to be optimized.

Well it does feel bad playing a spec that is balanced around having them. When blizzard wasn’t already ducking up the next season i would have ditched my frost DK over this too, and would have found another spec to play.

This is the reality;

Instant big throughput increase.

Imagine wanting to get a LEGENDARY weapon and complaining that you actually need to work towards it.

If you do not do high end content aka high M+s and mythic raids, why do you even need it then? To do top dps in your +2s? Or do top DPS in the WQs?

Wait for another xpac and get it if you need it for the transmog.

10/10. post though

When it was a bonus you were right. But since blizz is balancing around having it, it is a burden. a LEGENDARY isn’t in the current game something cool or extra. You get your LEGENDARY throughput by playing a spec without a LEGENDARY.

”Last 2” on heroic is down to 100k gold atm.

So just 1 token will buy you 3 weeks of Heroic Fyrakk.

I want to gear a retri paladin as well, But redoing the Legendary axe grind for the quests and then also complete the quests again is not something i wanna do.

Imo make everything BoA so i can send the gear from my DK to a paladin or just have a class change Voucher in the store.

Yes it does. I get it but at the same time do you need it? Do you compete with someone or for any reward? Do you aim for top % of the ladder? If no it’s enough. You cannot just play one part of PvE and expect to be optimized. It was always like this and always will be. It’s his choice not to look for other raiding build. The consequence is no Legendary. I’m sorry but everything has it’s consequence.

I presume it will keep dropping though and you still have the chance.

As others have said your best bet is to try a Hc Fyrakk kill once a week. The drop rate is quite buffed compared to what it was. Most of our raid team got one after the change.

I appreciate it’s never fun having to farm another form of content that you don’t enjoy. As you are playing with friends does it really matter if you have the axe?

The quest isn’t cheap to do either, so be prepared.

How is it created by Blizzard?

Shouldn’t those people then question themselves why they care so much?

This is one aspect I’ve never really understood… The absolute urge that you NEED to have something, even though you may never actually use it or there is similar alternatives available for less…

The fact that you let a game control your emotions and mental health that much, for what?

You just described exactly what fomo is. Blizzard ate getting pretty good at it. With the monthly trader stuff. The limited time expensive mounts and now this.

Its not controlling me because I am not doing it unless it gets significantly nerfed. The days where I wanted the best gear getting AoTC achieves and other collectibles are long gone. Nobody cares what you have in game. So why should I? Make good content not content that have rewards tied to a time limit.
