Legendary crafting imbalance

Like are u guys serious about this ?? How is it possible that cloth item rank 3 cost average 20k on AH while leather rank 3 cost 200k ??

Why there is such a big difference in crafting legendaries for each class ?
Like if i want to play this game at full potential and don’t have time to farm gold or whatever, I will just stuck with my rank 1 legendary until i make lw on some character and spend infinite amount of time farming furs to craft 15x times the same item to get rank 2… this is just ridiculous.

lowering the amount of items craft needed to learn higher ranks would be really nice, since some professions need much more effort to get ranks.

The problem is Callous Hide and how many classes need it for their gear, since 6 out of 12, use it. There’s only 3 cloth and 3 plate classes, and their mats are easier to obtain than for leather and mail classes.

Lowering the amount of items won’t change much, because the price per unit will remain the same. The solution should be to either reduce the amount of Callous Hide require for each piece, or make all Elite beasts drop it when skinned.

It will, because if you can craft rank 1 and learn rank 2 from first craft, then i would craft it for myself… but since you need to craft each piece 15x times to get rank 2 its very time consuming and hard to even find anyone in your guild for example that can craft it for you.

One of my guildmates crafted lego hands, and since he wants to get his hands to rank 4, he’s now leveling up skills on hands crafting… but since i need shoulders, he cannot craft it because he knows only rank 1… This is so clunky, that they should atleast made the ranks wide across all pieces once you learn to craft rank 4 on one of them.

I get what you’re saying, but lowering the required number of crafts to get the next rank won’t fix the problem. Tailoring and Blacksmith don’t have the same problem, the mats are affordable and even if the gear is sold at lower price, you don’t lose much. I’ve levelled 3 different pieces of cloth gear to rank 2 with Tailoring, and I’ve lost, at most, 7-8k gold in total. In Leatherworking, I usually lose around 3-4k gold per piece. If I were to do the same as Tailoring, getting 3 pieces to rank 2, I would stand to lose over 180k gold. Reducing the number of ranks just means I would be losing less, but would still be losing a lot per piece.

The issue is that the mats required to craft leather and mail pieces are harder to get than those for cloth and plate. There’s 3 plate, 3 cloth, 4 leather and 2 mail users. So Leatherworking is crafting for half the classes in the game, while the others craft for just 1/4. It makes no sense that the profession that is required to craft the most pieces of gear, 2 different types, is the one whose mats are the hardest to farm form.

We assume that over time, as more people get all their pieces the prices might go down, especially because many pieces on sale were crafted by people just trying to get higher ranks, but that’s still weeks away. Lowering the number of crafts required to level doesn’t fix the problem, because Callous Hide will still be in short supply for a long time, probably until 3-4 weeks after rank4 is first available to empower, which is still 2 or 3 weeks away from being possible.

The only way to fix is to either increase the % of Callous Hide drop, or make it a certain drop in Elite Beasts, so that more appear on sale at AH, driving the prices down.

To me the answer is simple - trash this Legendary crafting system.

It is a utter joke that you already have to purchase a “base” item to craft the legendary which is obtainable only if you are a Blacksmith, Tailor or Leatherworker else you have to pay on AH…worse is that every time you want to upgrade you have to purchase the higher I.lvl base item! All well and good if you are a Tailor, Leatherworker or Blacksmith - you’re making a mint! But for the rest of us - this really feels unfair.

Blizz should make it either so these base items are craftable by all, via some sort of grind system like AP/Azerite or they need to simply dump the upgrade system requiring further base items (So that Tailors, Leatherworkers and Blacksmiths still make gold off of the initial “base item” purchase).

But currently, this upgrade system is in my view awful and makes zero sense even in the lore/past precedent in WoW. Once a legendary is already created; why the hell do we need a new “base” item!!! Just let us use Soul Ash to upgrade all the way! The Legendary should become the base item!

And it doesn’t help that they nerfed the drop rate of em

Yeah, its completely insane. I get enough mats for 10 heavy callous hides per hour, +/- … Maybe I am farming at the wrong spots, maybe I am just to slow. But that’s what I get. Tbh, I will give it it up. Its just not worth my time. What utter bs compared to plate/cloth. Tbh either they rise drops for callous and heavy callous hides massively or they change it so that you need only 2 callous to craft one heavy callous hide or something like that. I was really excited that crafting was supposed to be worth something again, but this is insane. And with the amounts of mats you need for one piece, how many classes wear leather/mail, and how low the drops are, I don’t see AH prices drop significantly for a long long time.
