Legendary effects AS ILLUSIONS

MoP cloak, lego BoW, Shadowmourne etc. have amazing proc/on hit animations. If you don’t wanna complicate the system by having them go along with the model when we mog them, then just make the effects available via illusions, easy fix and that way the effects become available to be used on top of other models. The Shadowmourne effect, in particular, i am extremely fond of.

I would really welcome more visual character effects. That rates very high on my personal wish-list.

But I don’t think the best approach is to let players use visual effects from items they no longer use. It becomes confusing if the item effect you associate with a particular item no longer indicates that a player is using that item. Some important visual identification would get lost there. I mean, the Shadowmourne effect – whilst super awesome – is meant as a visual indication that the buff is up.

On the other hand, some of those legendary item visuals are really cool, and I don’t think there are many Death Knights out there who doesn’t want swirly souls floating around them, because that’s just cool class fantasy.

I think Blizzard should just put more visual effects into the game, for example as glyphs. We used to have a lot of cosmetic glyphs in earlier expansions, but for some inexplicable reason Blizzard decided to remove a lot of them, and I don’t understand why.

So yeah, I would love more visual character effects.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to be able to use the old legendary item ones.
But I do think Blizzard should make many equally cool ones as glyph options. I mean, a recolored version of the Shadowmourne visual effect as a Death Knight glyph would be totally reasonable.

Well, if we’re going to be allowed to tmog the legendaries themselves it seems reasonable to be able to have the effects as illusions too.

The shadowmourne effect especially.

Blizz likes to go half the distance in these things for some reason, i see nothing wrong with keeping the legendary visual now that they let us actually mog them.

Problem with those effects is, how many weapon have them? Shadowmourne got one, thoridal next one, maybe rogue daggers? Mop cloak is unobtainable…

So like 4 classes will have new weapon special effect, and thats where problem is… They need to give something to everyone, not only to those 3 using one specific wep

I get what you are saying but DH have glaives for two expansions now and every other class doesn’t have any legos to tmog, so it doesn’t really seem to be the reason.

While that is true, look how many warglaives are in game (or 1h sword they can also use) now for example compare that to warrior who cam use 2h mace axe sword polearm or even staff…

Ofc, some classes and specs can use less… But DHs have way less options to choose weapon (especialy when they dont wanna swords which doesnt fit them much)
And this comes from some1 who doesnt like DHs as class

Historically, they don’t need to give other classes something because 1 or a few have.

Warlocks got green fire, no one else has anything comparable.

Rogues got a legendary weapon/questline unique to them.

Dh have been able to tmog legendary weapon since mid legion.

While it’s nice to give all classes something, it’s not been consistently happening.

Yea and people on forums are crying because of that, kind of for a reason…

Also, when we take in note just transmongs and visuals as whole, there is so much that could be improved, instead of just allowing few weapons have their original effects…
