Legendary transmog

Please remove the restrictions on older legendaries.
There is absolutely no reason not being able to transmog into old legendaries anymore.
Old legendaries have lesser detailed models and lower quality textures, and there are tons of fantastisk models that surpass many old legendaries in appearance.
please open it up?

I don’t quite understand why they haven’t done it already, they went out of their way to give Demon Hunters the Twin Blades of Azzinoth and Outlaw Rogues a fresh Thunderfury but for all the others, they remain unavailable or have only certain stages available (Shadowmourne/Tarecgosa).

The models exist already and sure, loads of people will use them if they become available, but just like every other new xmog item people will get bored and it won’t take long before they swap it out for something else. Sure, some people will probably use Thunderfury for the rest of their days, nothing wrong with that. But for the rest of us, it would be nice simply to have the option.

Restrictions do not a make a happy playerbase.

Tell me… what use would a mage have from dual wielding azzinoths? Clearly from lore perspective he/she wouldn’t need such a weapon… or a warrior dual wielding two staffs? what would he/she do? tickle enemy to death? The current restrictions exist because it makes sense (lore wise). Leather wearers use leather because it’s compromise between agility and bulkiness. Cloth wearers use cloth because they generally don’t stand in melee range, therefore they don’t need the bulkiness, mail wearers need less agility and more bulkiness and plate wearers need only bulkiness since they pretty much take hits all the time. Sorry but having a mage wearing plate is imho ridiculous.

EDIT: If restrictions are some day removed, we’d end up with mages wearing shaman class sets (T10) because of the animations and game would collapse when it comes to lore.

Well that’s already possible, looks ridiculous.

I would like some lesser restrictions on weapons (please let me get rid of the wands), but keep the cloth/leather/mail/plate restrictions.

As for Legendaries, well, I wouldn’t mind. Although seeing them everywhere would be not so fun either.

I am not asking for all restrictions to be lifted, i just want to be able to transmog into my old legendary weapons on the char that got them, is that asking for too much?

What does this even have to do with OP’s post? He never said anything about every class to be able to use every weapon and armor in the game, all he did was ask for legendaries as transmog?

To OP: I agree, I think it’s ridiculous how paladins can use the Ashbringer or shamans can use the Doomhammer, both two very lore heavy weapons. But we still can’t transmog the other legendary weapons… Thori’dal for exaple has no known lore behind it and it is one of the best looking bows in the game but I still can’t mog it
Also doesn’t make much sense how some legendary items can be mogged (cloaks, legion legendaries) but still no legendary weapon mogs

At what point did I insinuate such a situation? I made no mention of lifting any class restrictions, keep Azzinoths for the Warriors, Rogues, DKs, Monks and DHs and tier sets for their respective classes. I would simply like all armour types available to all classes and legendaries available to those that can equip them, so that’d be a Mage with a Thunderfury, thank you very much.

This is actually currently possible, most of them look odd but I’m not one to judge, my Fury Warrior currently uses x2 Frostscythe of Lord Ahune, which, despite the appearance, is a staff.

Sorry but having a mage wearing plate is imho ridiculous.

The cosmetic appearance of the Stormwind Set from WoD’s Dwarven Bunker has the appearance of plate and yet, is usable by all armour types.

Aside from that, there’s a whole host of pre-60 plate items now classified as mail, if you want your shaman/hunter to look like a warrior, then more power to you.

And yet, ‘lore wise’, we are soon (8.2) to be able to go around fighting enemies in nought but our underwear. This is not a lore issues, this is a gameplay issue, go crawl back to your RP server.

Well, would be good if we’d be able to mog to them, after all grind that has been done for them…
