It’s good that Execute is weak now. Warriors can only do X amount of damage total and the more of it that’s placed in the Execute-phase the more has to be moved away from outside the Execute-phase in order to make the X amount the same.
While seeing huge numbers is satisfactory Execute is the essence of bad design. I If Warrior damage over five minutes is set to 200.000, Then due to the Execute-phase it would have to be divided to 120.000 the first four minutes and 80.000 the last minute.
Meanwhile a similar class also set to 200.000 damage over five minutes they would deal 160.000 damage the first four minutes and 40.000 damage the last minute.
Obviously the last one wins because they’re more consistent and their unassisted burst is higher.
While Execute seems like additional damage its factored into your total damage that’s assigned to us over time.
What to compare? We got legion artifact then. Now we got crappy azerite system and thank God essences Talents? Our talents got pruned .4th row remained unchanged, second row we lost shockeave Warbreaker became talent in the same row with cleave ,we lost recklessness.Cool traits like shattered defences , touch of Zackaj ,executioners precision , void cleave, many will fall werent added at azerite At legion we got our legos, artifact gave minor buff at MS EXE WW .Our rotation was more smooth at higher ilvl. Rage cost werent high thanks to dauntless.Mastery was more fun then , rng based to get procs for spamming CS MS but fun and effective.Every spell mattered Now we got a bleed not as just a passive but as mastery. Consecutive uses of slam were rewarding now its not. We had a rotation for aoe dmg not one trick WB/BS Imho i prefer legion arms
Just for the archive, Executioner’s precision was added as azerite untill 8.1. It worked similar to legion counterpart but it didnt provide a straight dmg percentage but practicly 50% value For example: if trait was from 355ilvl and u were 355 ilvl then u would notice that trait gave around the half amount of MS. Considering the trait was stackable u get up to around 300% more dmg without other dmg buffs. Its was nerfed 2 times for pve and 1 more for pvp . Unfortunately it was removed. Devs thought that customizing our char,playing our rotation correctly for maximazing our dmg was overtuned and not fun for other specs? I dunno what to say ,maybe they dont play warrior
