To me it’s make you play metrics. You should be done with a rep grind, it’s exalted but NO!
Exactly. In my opinion there should exist some bad luck protection for mounts and rare pets/toys. Every time a mount doesn’t drop you get a 0.1% increased dropchance for that char.
A friend on twitter suggested a token system. So even if you didn’t get a mount from a paragon, you’d get like a bad luck coin/currency/token and then eventually you’d be able to get the mount for those tokens instead. So it would be like a bad luck protection system.
I mean legion paragon mounts were stupid, its good they buffed it. Getting 1 mount should not take extra 1milion reputation. I have all of them and im pretty sure last 2 took me close to milion extra rep.
I did something similar, I had numerous characters just rep farming, clearing the board over and over again. I got my last the Highmountain Moose on the 22th April 2018 (104th opening) . Not long before pre-patch.
Just having a look at reps now I have at least 8 characters with exalted in all legion reps and another 4 with at least one. Bonkers.
As I have said before these items should be with the vendor, the whole Paragon rewards concept is scummy.
More FOMO crap? No thanks…
Wait, people actually farm paragon rep?
It’s even worse when it’s rep and a huge gold cost
I’m one of those that maxed the rep early. Honestly I do not care if its now super easy.
Oh yeah, they have mounts, pets and toys. In the case of Legion I had many characters doing it, for Korthia I had 6 at Exalted by the time the mount dropped. Some of us must have…
As apposed to now. Where you can just wait until next patch, or next expansion. That seems really healthy for the game. Gear comes and goes, transmog is forever
Each to their own, I prefer a QM system where I grind the rep and can buy them. Preferably for a reasonable price. I hate being made to repeatedly do dailies for something I should have long been done with.
I don’t think I enjoy a single ‘make you play’ metric that artificially extends how long you would be doing something for.
Paragon rewards are an awful system and don’t belong in the game, people will feel differently and that’s fine. I hate them with a passion because my reward for exalted should be that I’m done.
The point I was trying to make is that if it’s rep it shouldn’t be a huge gold cost as well… I’m thinking of the Lightforged Warframe and all the BFA mounts.
I stopped caring about mounts some time ago and feel much happier now I’m not running tons of characters through raids or feeling a slave to the collect system.
It seems somewhat ironic that you want a system that many dislike because it forces a grind, yet at the same time you are happy to be free of a grind you used to do on many characters.
Not every QM mount is at the Lightforged Warframe cost. The costs vary from very cheap to the ridiculous. Some high costs mounts exist purely as gold sinks. Having said that I hope we never have another Long Boi scenario.
I don’t “grind” anything anymore. I play the part of the game I enjoy only and I’m happier without the awful low drop rates driving me to extremes.
It really opens your eyes when you go to other games that let you run a raid as many times as you like and the drop rate is 20% for it’s mount. They even have a once a year event - run dungeons to buy it off a vendor with free currency.
and fomo isnt exactly healthy either, its actually worse, i hate it.
im content as it is right now.
if you want x mog or y mount right now, put in the work, do it the hard way. you dont want it that badly or dont want to put in the work, just wait a while until it gets easier. its a great compromise.
like you said, gear comes and goes but mogs and mounts are forever, so they shouldnt be locked behind fomo.
So instead of making content actually fun to do while current you’d rather they force players to play garbage content in order to not miss out on rewards? Again no thanks…
i cant recall having bought a single bfa and only 1-2 legion mounts. the cost was just outrageous.
kind of funny that im now sort of forced to spend that money on legendaries.
Mage tower wasn’t garbage, neither was challenge modes in my opinion. Your opinion, you’re entitled to it. All I’m saying is that I do not enjoy 99% of the content at the moment, all boiled down to the fact why would I waste my time doing content that’s slow and boring when I know in the next few patches it’ll be changed or make your efforts pretty much delegable. Especially stuff that revolves around character power, and grinding gem slots and all that BS.
You can say fomo is bad all you want. Whenever I hear people wanting stuff back, it’s always to do with the challenges, that don’t revolve completely around gear. And you get nice transmog stuff in the process.
Not really, actively stopping playing the game and waiting for it to become easier is outright toxic. You should be rewarded for playing the game currently, not 3 years down the line.
