Can i unlock one for 30 legion dungeons just by leveling legion dungeons?
And WQ requirement is for any WQ now or just Legion?
I was under the impression unlocking had to be done on the character that unlocked the weapon.
Artifact Weapons offer many gameplay benefits, which you can read about in-depth in the Guide to Artifact Weapons or bite-sized in Artifact Basics: Acquiring and Enhancing Your Weapon. However, there is also a vibrant transmog component to the Artifact Weapon as well! There are 24 appearances associated with each Artifact Weapon, this guide covers how to unlock each style and how difficult and time-consuming each one is.
Each Artifact Weapon Guide includes pictures of each appearance and the weapons can be previewed in the modelviewer in the Artifact Calculator.
Note: Starting in Shadowlands Prepatch (Patch 9.0), your first artifact may be acquired at level 10.
Unlocking Basics
Most tint unlocks require level 45 but several can be done while leveling.
Once a new appearance or tint is unlocked, it is available to be used at the Artifact Forge in your Class Order Hall.
Other weapon appearances can be transmogged over your artifact weapon. This follows all pre-existing rules with regards to weapon types, etc.
Certain weapon appearances change the type of a weapon (e.g. the Titan’s Reach Hidden Artifact appearance for Titanstrike changes it from a Gun to a Bow)
All skins and appearances that you unlock are unlocked for ALL specs on your character. In Battle for Azeroth, unlocking a skin or appearance on a character will make it usable by other characters of the same class and specialization.
In Battle for Azeroth, you can transmog to your artifact weapon, regardless of weapon type, if you are the correct spec. For example, a Holy Paladin using a sword and shield can transmog to the 2H Mace artifact. You will also be able to transmog to the Druid Artifact Forms.
