Also it is wild seeing the meta classes do 4 mil average+ in M+ and up towards 10 mil on pulls. Like for real, your math guy is not mathing right. Everyone knows gear scaling is a complete bust and has bean since you are pushing 4 set of teirs per raid(mental), but this is just madness. 630+ ilvl pushing 10 mil… first raid tier. Oh boi. Blizzard just completely dropped the ball here and nothing is being done.
With your average group u are happy to them have 1.5-2m overal.
Also why does it matter? Its just a number, who cares if boss has 100m and we do 1m dps or boss has 1000m and we do 10m? Its still the same just looks different on screen , doesnt change anything tho .
We will have yet another squish sooner or later if that is what u are worried about
Yet the potential is there. Furthering the gap between players is not what is needed thought. While the majority of this gap is consolidated in pure time investment - see world first raiding - some of it and especially for m+ will be the ”meta group” gap and that is bad. Bad for everyone. It will have ripple effects.
Coz it is stupid and creates a bigger overlap between seasons too close with gear if you god forbid have a break from the game in between seasons/tier raids. Also see above. While skill should be a part of the games, when it is simply a matter of X performing on a different power scale, the numbers should be relied in and quickly.

tww even increased the ilvl gap snother notch with myth ilvl being incrrased compared to df.
if they wanted to reduce the gaps they would either have to make the gaps between content e.g. 3 ilvls or reduce the amount of difficulties.
if the ilvl gap is too small they are scared that nobody will play myth raid anymorr because it is garbage content and they need the ilvl on a stick to lure thr no lifers in
Most of the difference in performance numbers in higher keys and what you’re doing is pull sizes / cooldown setups. Most specs can do similar damage if given the opportunity.
Somehow every solution to every problem in M+ is always “add more AoE”.
My class literally can’t single target any more. It’s legit impossible. If I try it will take until next week for me to kill anything because the only thing I can do is spam Frostbolt.
This isn’t good for the game. This AoE should be nerfed. Target caps aren’t the solution, but AoE abilities should generally deal less damage and be rarer.
How is it not related? OP is asking for a DMG increase when the majority of people can’t even play their class properly, it’s a literal skill issue.

Meta classes aren’t even the ones simming the highest rn lol, if you think DPS itself is determining the meta you lack a basic understanding of the game.
