Lesser Staff of the Spire - is it unobtainable?

Hello, so I’ve been looking on how to get this item for a while now, but I can’t find any information on whether or not it is still obtainable. I have contacted the support two times and I have talked to 3 different GMs in total and none of them had this information, they said only the developers know which items are still dropping.

On Wowhead, people are having mixed opinions… some are saying that they talked to GMs and that they’ve been told the item is not obtainable anymore(that wasn’t my case, the GMs I talked to just told me they don’t have that information). It also doesn’t say in the article that the item’s drop source has been removed from the game. It drops from a phased quest only.

Does anyone know if this item is still obtainable?

Read the comments there, one of them describes how to get it. You need a certain quest active in your quest log in order to phase into where the NPCs that drop it are.

So, give it a shot I guess. As you mention it doesn’t say it was removed. In fact, if you can see it in your Collections tab, it’s still obtainable, items disappear from there once they aren’t obtainable.

I don’t think items disappear from the collections tab once they are unobtainable. I can still see Augural Shroud without having collected the appearance for example, and its source is no longer in the game.

From my personal experience, they do.

You can still get it tho.

As stated there, you can get it in a Crate of Salvage.

So, after following the instructions from Gorefriend’s comment (https://www.wowhead.com/item=1300/lesser-staff-of-the-spire?bonus=3631#comments) , and phasing myself into that quest, I thought to check the Wowhead page(https://www.wowhead.com/npc=436/blackrock-shadowcaster#drops) for the NPCs that are supposed to drop Lesser Staff of the Spire. And it’s nowhere on their drop list. So I guess they don’t drop it anymore

So, I upgraded my Garrison and Salvage Yard only to find out the Crates of Salvage that used to drop green BoEs have been removed in Legion and the Large Crates of Salvage which is their replacement don’t drop any green BoEs either. So that begs the question… Why is it still in the Collections tab, how can we still obtain these items if all their sources seem to be removed?

Weird. Well Blizzard sometimes screws up and this could be one of those situations… Hope not, but there’s a chance. Try sending a ticket to them, see if they can help.

I agree, they should not show the appearances that are not obtainable, while green BoEs in theory you can buy from oither players, there are some items that are not obtainable in any way. Like Crystal Lined Greaves in wardrobe for plate using classes.

While not the exact item, you could try for the Staff of First Occurrences https://www.wowhead.com/item=61526/staff-of-first-occurrences?bonus=3631 It’s not perfect but it’s close as you can get.
Plus it’s a cata quest reward so it aint going anywhere for a while.
