I like that Warcraft story does have super heroes.
I also like there are characters and individuals that are more powerful than the player character
That the player character can look up to
That are the ultimate of what they stand for.
Warcraft can have super heroes, like we do in Marvel comics and D.C Universe as well as others.
This is good to have, but I like that it is only a part of wow’s narrative, the player hero is another , and Ofc world threats.
Super heroes in Warcraft don’t have to be cringeworthy and they don’t have to be the same either. Some can have lots of things going for them, some can have little, so don’t even need to have special powers although that is impossibly rare in Warcraft that doesn’t really focus on ordinary people.
I played classic wow, and was dismayed not to ever see the Wc3 heroes in action, I was also dismayed when they over did Thrall, but left Tyrande doing Zero till a small crap scene in MoP.
I have mixed feelings on how they have handled their super heroes, it’s been bad more than it’s been good, but it is getting better and having more good showings than bad.
I’d say I’m glad they are round and blizzard shouldn’t give up trying to do them well and fitting, and of also progressing them.
The things is players have now essentially become those "superheroes" as you put it. We are legends of our time and our exploits around Azeroth, Outlands and Draenor are many and awesome to behold.
There are very few characters more powerful than us and on some classes we are the best they offer. Only classes that come to mind that we clearly aren't are Druid (Malfurion is basically one of the most powerful mortals on Azeroth ever) and Priest (Velen, with his 25k years of experience, and Tyrande, with her having Elune watching over her and Elune is powerful ally to have, and maybe Mage since I'm not sure how we compared to Khadgar or Jaina). Paladins do still have Turalyon to look up as an example since he is one of the founders of the Knights of the Silver Hand but not necessarily more powerful than the player. Similar with warlocks and Gul'dan.
The thing is we have pretty much hit the power cap for mortals, if Blizzard wants to keep us grounded, since we were able to slay a World-Soul. Of course Blizzard could just keep piling power unto us or mortal NPCs where we are destroying galaxies with a sneeze but you can see from Med'an's example how well that was received.
To paraphrase a certain saiyan prince from certain abridged show:
"Make your jokes while you still can because I can now see the peak of your power while I'm only beginning to tap into mine. You see, I have finally realized the legend. That's right you're not dealing with the average [insert class] anymore. I, Player Character, have finally become the legendary super [insert class]!"

Then you would agree we are too powerful.

Yup, but there is no good way to pull rug under out power level now that we are at this stage unless Blizzard explains that our power comes from the Artifacts we have wielded (Weapons in Legion and the pendant in BfA) rather than from ourselves.
Heroes are good for the story.
Super Heroes? Bad very bad.
Super Heroes? Bad very bad.
I think having Super Heroes for characters has been very bad for the story. It essentially renders the armies of the Horde and Alliance irrelevant when a single character can turn the tide out of nowhere using their god-like powers.

But then everyone loves your Batman/Spiderman or Super man, and some of them have incredible powers, but they are written in such a way that things can get quite challenging for them, and when they do turn the tide of a battle it is a fist bump moment rather than a feeling of everyone else is useless why don't they just swoop in and save the day.
Why do you think that is? I have some thoughts on this, but would like to hear yours first.
