Let us see current CR and max rating this season in LFG

I shouldn’t have to Alt Tab and check people on the Armory or on some third party site to see if someone is lying about their rating. By the time we’re in the match it might be too late.

It’s already hard enough to pug. Displaying current and max CR would be an easy Quality of Life change.

‘2300 exp’
‘Alright, give them a go, cba wasting time looking for longer’
inspect in game
No rating achievements, no arena achievements besides world wide winner and step into the arena.
Gonna be fun tanking 200 mmr, cheers.

The inability to see these ratings in game on sign up just breeds toxicity . No one wants to attempt to boost idiots and it’s not gonna help said idiots to improve. It’s a lose / lose not having such a system in place.

It would even solve the difficulties for lower rated people to find teams because the creator of the group in lfg should have their cr and max rating displayed there. So you can clearly see if you would be ‘qualified’ to play with them.

you guys might want to look people up before inviting AND queuing up rofl

Sometimes the Armory is down and check-PvP doesn’t update instantly.

I don’t wanna have to Hearthstone and run to the guy I just invited every time. So how about we just make CR visible which should be pretty easy to implement considering we can see Ilvl ?

Use https ://check-pvp .fr (Cant post links for some reason)

You have to type in their name and server everytime but atleast it’s better than nothing

There is an Addon provided by check-pvp that gives you a Name Server combination in a Window you can copy paste.

It’s almost like the reason for these threads is so we DON’T have to rely on third party websites to look up things that should be visible INGAME

Check-PvP isn’t always up to date. Also I want to see their max XP in this expansion, not 10 years ago.

A lot of people say 2.4K EXP and the site shows that to be their highest rating. Problem is it was literally in 2010.

obviously, it’d be great if they implemented this. Still, if you queue up with someone based only on whatever they told you beforehand, you’re a bit of a goober. Like, people lie, expect it.

And you’d have a point, if the WoW Armory or Check-PvP always showed their current CR and Season high XP. But they don’t.

A filter in lfg like how you can filter by Ilvl! One for max cr aka xp. One for cr. They can’t sign if below so you’d never see the timewasters

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, because it’d definitely be a huge QoL upgrade for experienced PvP:ers. But imagine the segregation though. :astonished:

Btw, uuhm, cr is short for current rating. So max rating, and cr. Not max cr when referring to exp, since it isn’t current. I’ve noticed an increase of ppl using it like you do in the last two expansions, for some weird reason.

haha I think thats more called messaging on a smart phone after just waking.

But imagine the segregation though

I already do this, manually, using checkpvpDOTfr

Fair enough.

Yeah, a lot of people do. But it’d have a wider effect if everyone started doing it. Like, let’s say a random percentage, 70% for the sake of the example (just an imaginary number), are doing it right now on average. But what if a suggestion like that would increase this percentage? It’d be noticed.

Personally, I think a better solution is adding more social glue in order to de-emphasize the importance on raw statistics of players. A common problem is “not having people to play with” and “spending too much time in the group finder”, after all. So if there’d be social glue in the system, and less emphasis on the statistics, it’d make it easier to find people to stick with.
Arena teams in the early days of arenas are a good example of that.

There are similarities you can find with things like Tinder, when comparing it to the group finder ever since the removal of arena teams. Imo the one thing most similar is “leaving after the first loss” and people not staying in touch after that one night together.
Of course, that’s Tinder’s chosen concept, but they’re both socially engineered similarly. You use Tinder with the expectation to not bond socially (not a lasting bond anyway), but pretty much only physically for that moment. And a common excuse ppl use to defend the group finder is that they don’t have time, and don’t want to depend on other people’s schedules matching up with theirs, so these kinds of people also use the group finder with the expectation of not really bonding socially, but rather just for the moment in order to win some matches.

Which is why I’ve always been an advocate for returning social glue to the game, instead of this “stranger climate” we have now. The group finder turns the social design of the game to something like searching for bots filling the level of gameplay required to match your needs to accomplish the tasks in mind, instead of searching for players to bond with over time which would provide a better framework to develop real teamwork.

I’m not saying the group finder prevents everybody from reaching their goals or from bonding with other people, because there are people who has excelled in this kind of climate. But what I’m saying is that overall it has had a severe impact on the social climate in the game overall, and has changed the way people socially network with other players.
And since so many people struggle socially in the game compared to the past, I dare say it has changed things for the worse.

We had that topic already.
Still nothing more than ppl advertising checkpvp :frowning:

I’d say in LFG 90% of the players advertising for partners hype their CR / XP too.

There’s selling yourself, or even some rounding up, then theres 100-300 extra chucked in for no reason but bait.

i’d say to just see current mmr of the bracket since u can have 2400 cr but if u before dropped from 2600 to 2400 with a 1200 friend, the mmr will be on the sh-it and u will drop anyway, same with people that played with any alt but are on big win streak and are like 1800 cr but 2400 mmr so u won’t drop with him
