Hello everyone,
I think most people agree that WoW PvP is currently in a pretty rough state, and the light at the end of the tunnel feels far away. Balancing seems nearly impossible, MMR is all over the place, and participation is dropping drastically, especially in the 3v3 bracket.
On top of that, AWC is slowly turning into constant mirror matches because classes have become so streamlined and easy to execute that whatever is mathematically best will always dominate representation.
That said, I don’t just want to complain. I actually have a few proposals that I think could genuinely improve the health of PvP.
- Make PvP gear open-world only.
For all instanced PvP (Arena, Solo Shuffle, BGs), use a fully templated system where everyone enters on equal footing.
This would:
-
Make balancing significantly easier by reducing variables.
-
Increase participation because PvE players could queue PvP without getting instantly deleted by fully geared players.
-
Help inflate MMR naturally by increasing the active player pool.
- Shift rewards toward cosmetics instead of power.
Keep Gladiator titles prestigious, but also reward Solo Shuffle players properly. For example:
-
Gladiator mount available through Solo Shuffle.
-
Duelist rewards let you choose older weapon enchants.
-
Each bracket gets its own distinct elite cosmetic set/colors.
The focus should be on being rewarded for effort and skill.
- Bring back more class utility and skill expression.
A lot of specs feel overly homogenized right now. Reintroducing iconic abilities would create more outplay potential and class identity.
Examples:
-
Mage Blast Wave
-
Shadow Priest stun
-
More situational utility in general
cough give me back Deep Freeze cough
But seriously, I genuinely think changes like these would improve accessibility, increase participation, and make PvP healthier long term.
Kind regards,
The INFA Mage
