Prejustice for each other doesn’t last forever in a world where people obviously want to overcome this. Just because the factions haven’t been best pals in the past doesn’t rule out that possibility in the future, and especially then the lore is heading this way.
From our in game actions in BfA it’s very clear the players do not all feel this happy hand holdy Alliance bond. There was a clear split in the players base. Not that any of the choices were meaningful. If you were a Loyalist you reported the traitorous behaviour to Sylvanas you still just had to go with the flow. The story could only have one outcome.
Now we are back into the forced narrative with no choices.
I picked Saurfang, because I’ll never be loyal to an elf. However, I was 100% agreed that Baine should’ve been executed. I got mad that I had to save him in the Maw and Torghast, while if I had the choice, I would’ve left him to die.
I don’t want to hold alliance hands.
However, I don’t want to hold Horde hands either if they’re gonna become Alliance 2.0. THat’s why I want to be neutral so I can do what I want.
In my opinion the game has been butchered enough, we can follow the lore and see where it goes or actually care about the player well being and have an alliance between the factions, where we can share chats, trades, raids and friendships between each other.
I used to be alliance person myself and i miss my clean houses, but how Blizzard has handled the factions so far has been dreadful pushing more people out of alliance and in to horde. Constantly they have said they will handle that issue and still no solution has been found, at this point pulling the plug and enabling cross faction is the best solution.
Cross-faction strong relationships between leading figures are nothing new. Thrall and Jaina, Baine and Anduin… It never brought factions closer to unification. What you describe is uniting against a common, world-ending threat, and they always, always did that, be it on Outland, against Arthas, against Garrosh, against Old Gods, against the Legion… they do that, they lick their wounds, and then they go back to war.
Right now the matter is that there’s some crazy dude who wants to rewrite the rules of reality or something like that. Are they going to unite in order to defeat that universe-dooming weirdo ? Of course they are. But it has no implications on what they’ll do once it’s settled. Actually Exploring Azeroth : Kalimdor shows that the Horde is working on healing from the 4th War and securing their outposts and holdings, including in Ashenvale and Darkshore, even if it means fighting the NElves.
(offtopic but in terms of lore and writing they need to do exactly the opposite of that tbh)
If it was a single player game I would have been a Loyalist and I would have murdered all the traitors if given the option. I certainly wouldn’t have rescued any of them from the Maw. I have no time for any of the Alliance sympathisers we seem to have as lead characters atm.
Some people loved Garrosh as a leader, I couldn’t stand him but I don’t expect to get any say in who leads the Horde or how the politics go. We may be the ‘Champion’ or ‘Maw Walker’ etc but we aren’t in charge, we are just tools to those who are.
Personally I think if they are going to do these half measures of making PuG content available cross faction then they might as well throw in the towel and merge the factions. It just doesn’t seem something they can easily do as the factions seems to be so heavily coded into how the game works. I also think it doesn’t really address the issues that we have with the bulk of the player base being Horde. It’s just a band aid to allow this kind of mercenary mode for PvE.
I did as well. I wish we could have Garrosh back, and that they gave him Orgrim Doomhammer personality, rather than what we got in MoP. Even then, I’d still stay loyal to the True Horde.
Faction merge would be great, because then everyone could be the race they want to play, and still be able to raid/pvp/dungeon with anyone, without having to be a certain faction. I can only see upsides in the long run.
I really liked Vol’jin but they never really did that much with him, apart from leading the rebellion to overthrow Garrosh, then later they gave him a pathetic death.
A faction merge would certainly address all the issues that have existed with the playerbase being on one side. I agree people could be in guilds and play what they wanted etc.
I wasn’t a huge fan… I always hoped Nazgrim would become the Warchief, as he never cared about races, and was with us in couple of zones, and we saw him rise from a low Scout (or whatever he was in Grizzly Hills) to General. He would’ve been great, but no… they killed him and made Wimp’jin Warchief.
Looks like you’re not engaging in middle to high end content, so sorry for being mean, but you have no clue aboot that matter. You don’t need a healthy playerbase for rp purposes. If anything, cross faction pve won’t affect you since I wanna keep factions for the open world and the rp community.
I’m considering this option, because I feel like Blizzard does not care aboot me, so why should I care in return?
We are descendants of Garithos, so no.
Here are some quotes from the Great Lord Garithos ;
These inhuman dogs must be slain.
The lesser races must be purged from the kingdom.
The only good non-human is a dead non-human.
There can’t be faction merge.
That’d make you a teenager at most.
Why not just make your own alliance with just humans?
The Scarlet Crusade might be up your alley.
Yes, of course they will bend the knee to our king Turalyon.
For Emperor Garithos
Deformed Vrykuls rise up
Again, a non raider getting into raiders’ way. Try to run HC for once.

Thanks Kretias for bringing this up in the council forums!
