Why would you even want Nightborne?

Edit: High Elves are likely not playable because of how similar they are to their DnD counterpart. I mean, Silvermoon is lifted directly from DnD. I also recall reading a very old interview (or something of the kind) from the early/mid 2000’s. In which a Blizzard employee said they wanted to take High Elves in a different direction, and that’s how we ended up with Blood Elves. Even back then, they wanted to get rid of High Elves.

If we had Nightborne I am pretty sure you would have people like you saying: “ALLIANCE GOT BLUE NIGHT ELF BUT HORDE GOT BRAND NEW RACE REEEEEEEEEE”

Not sure if serious, but Ally got velf for belf pheno and Horde got nborne for nelf pheno. I suspect those were pretty much the only reasons for making them playable races.

Blizzard have never been good at story telling. the reason Horde got nightborne is only because Tyrande was too stubborn for Thalyssra’s taste and what’s his face… Lor’themar Theron was more acceptable of the nightborne way of life. That is the way Blizzard wrote the story, That is why nightborne now kill Alliance players in PvP. The fact that I helped liberate them from their s**tty state as much as any horde player has zero effect. I should be the one that is the deciding factor here, not Tyrande, noth Lor’themar. This is why the nightborne should have been like the Pandas. you should be able to choose a faction.

that said, I’m cool with them being horde, we have the Kaldorei, the OG, the original master race, I don’t care. I’m just saying, from a story stand point, it’s just terrible writing.

Especially when they’re subpar to their NPC counterparts. Nightborne are in dire need of a complete rework from the ground up, and blood elves could do with some options for scars or tattoos.

You laugh, but we now have Sand Troll skin options for Darkspear.
