Simple series of question going out to all those who like to play Druids, hopefully to get a little insight from those out there who love to be one of nature’s guardians:
How long have you been roleplaying a Druid?
What initially attracted you to roleplaying a Druid?
What is keeping you roleplaying as a Druid?
What would you say is the hardest part of roleplaying as a Druid?
Do you have any advice to people looking to get into Druid roleplay?
I would also recommend saving as it holds a wealth of hints and tips on general Druid RP advice. Salutes Thornroot
Anyway, to answer…
Uh, a long time. It took a few months to fully realise who Terintha Starwhisper was. I usually forum RP, occasionally RP in game and that time is usually alone. I have Terintha heal the trees and talk to the spirits!
Hmm, I was attracted to their mechanics, I guess. But then I discovered RP and applied it to the character. I discoevered the druid’s calls their connection the Dream. Most the Nelves loving the moon and such I liked, and druid’s are connected more so. I actually get quite anxious around animals IRL, so it’s kinda funny I RP a druid.
Shortly put, the ongoing lore. It’s quite clear a druid’s work is never really done and this Xpac more so!
This varies from character to character. With Terintha, I imagine she doesn’t really stop… But this can lead to creative ways of being a druid (feeding worms, handling a trio of playful bear cubs, relocating a beehive, using oneself to feed leeches, feeding the birds, cleaning the city fountain, etc)
I would have fun with their calling. Most druid’s move to their own beat which can lead to awkward situations; may arrive to a meeting covered in muck, prioritising druidism over conversation (especially mid-conversation!), remember to look after the not-so-glamorous animals like insects, rats, squids, and stuff. Also to have fun!
Read some lore about druids, specifically about the race in question, as for example night elf druids and worgen druids have quite different backstories.
There are some good “How to RP …” videos on YouTube, and also videos about lore.
