Level 10/20 Twinks in LFG

WARNING, this is a slightly moany post but I’m a player thats passionate about the game I love… as I think we all are

I just had a very interesting experience, I thought I’d seen it all with level 20 twinks who blitz through the dungeon to kill the second boss and leave whilst we have to wait five minutes for a new tank… (I know It’s 5 minutes but why should the rest of us wait so you can try for your socketed gear).

Now I’m all for twinking, It’s fun and used to be a blast queing into twink battlegrounds back in the burning crusade and other old expansions… But just now I wanted to que a couple of relaxing dungeons whilst levelling my resto shaman, I encountered a level 10 brewmaster twink, with 3 seperate accounts all under the same Alias. He said he was going to boost us extremely fast through the dungeons on his one account for fast exp/loot. Now I didn’t say anything but I wasn’t really up for it, I wanted to complete the dungeon quests do the bosses and level at my own pace (some people would’ve welcomed it) But when I went to pull Hungerfen in slave pens he paused to start typing in caps lock about how I was an idiot for not skipping the boss and that he’s now going AFK because I obviously don’t want fast exp. I quite simply stated that he was ruining LFG, that he didn’t own it and I want to play the game my own way and left the group!

I really discredit the low level experience in dungeons at the moment… the scaling is completely off and It’s haunted by low level twinks who ditch the group or just want to speed run - I’m all down for some fast pulls with a nice group but can I please get my levelling experience back a bit without the complete toxicity ?

That’s my rant over, sorry guys!

well op as efficacy obsessed some people are this days this days this does not surprise me to quote a certain dev “given the opportunity players will optimize the fun out of a game”

Not a speedleveler, but from what I know, it’s actually indeed more XP to skip bosses, because only the end boss kill counts really. There isn’t a good incentive to clear the other bosses - gear isn’t the best because of heirlooms being available and being stronger as well.

The point of lfg would be to nicely clear a full dungeon with randoms, but… until something is done, most ppl will just rush to the end. Personally, I don’t skip however

:yum:

It´s also more XP to skip dungeons, because they are a waste of time compared to doing the speedleveling routes.

So there´s that.

The low level dungeon experience in WoW has always been meh at best. Historically always for different reasons. Blizzard doesn’t appear to put a lot of thoughts into group-leveling content. Other aspects of low-level content are even worse - such as doing old raids at their appropriate level.

Other MMOs do a better job at it, with consequences for frequently leaving before the dungeon is over, making bosses unskippable by default, and scaling the entire group to an appropriate power-level to complete the dungeon regardless of gear and level.
