I have recently bought a lv120 boost from the cash shop, which I used to boost a freshly made vulpera shaman. The first issue that came up is that upon entering Dalaran, I cannot seem to pick up the class hall questline’s first quest (A Ring Unbroken) from Thrall. The Whispering Winds NPC appears and leads me over to him, but he has no quests to pick up.
Another thing is, and I am not sure if it was intended, but the lv120 boost did not give me a Dalaran Hearthstone, only the Fly Master’s Whistle. Being far above the level where the Legion intro quests would trigger, I am now unable to get it. Asking for a replacement from Amisi Azuregaze does not work either, as the replacement HS gives the “you can’t use that right now” error and interrupts the casting. I am aware we have portals criss-crossing all over now, but having the commodity would be really handy.
I only ever used the 110 boost, never a 120 one, so I am unsure if I’m missing something. I know that boosted characters suffer from lockouts in some ways for a day after the boost happens, but I’m not sure my issues are due to that. I did file in-game tickets on these problems as well, but I figure if anyone more knowledgeable than me knows what’s up, input would be appreciated.
Dungeons, raids, and certain quests are locked out on boosted characters, for the first 24 hours. Allegedly to make certain exploits impossible. I don’t know if thats the real reason, but its the official reason.
As far as I remember, you still have to do the pre-requisites to get the flight masters whistle. Boosting does not skip them. I could be wrong tho, been a while since I used my 120 boost.
I’ve read in these forums that some people have had to go to Dalaran via a mage portal or other means before they get a Dalaran Hearthstone.
There are no lockouts at least not on Alliance side, I have done 6 class order halls with 120 boosts with no real issue, however you have to make sure you don’t take any BFA quests before you start because it throws the phase out, I was able to get the quest to go to Dalaran from recruiter lee - but only if I refrained from taking any quests from BFA.
You are able to skip intro quests if you have done the start with another character.
Thank you! I found the horde equivalent of Recruiter Lee, Holgar Stormaxe; he let me do the intro quest and get my Dalaran Hearthstone. The class hall quest became available immediately!
I understand it’s old … I still don’t get a solution to the problem…eep the epic key doesn’t work like an epic…in the meantime the 30 days of gameplay has expired…pretty frustrating…Where should I turn with my complaint?
