i am struggling to level my Pandaren to 60. the amount of times ive died. this is because i believe the scale for the mobs is broken, and they cause a big amount of damage to level 50’s. i first noticed this upon doing Cataclysm timeline, specificallly stranglethorn, where i got nuked as each mob causes 10%, 20%, and or even 30% damage with each hit.

i died to mobs at least 5 times in stranglethorn, which is ridiculous. ive seen a lower level paladin taking on many mobs in the same zone, and im strugging to fight 1 or 2.
and then i went to pandaria, where it was still bad but much better than Stranglethorn. still i died a few times to mobs.
and died even more times to the quest where you need to kill the warlock orc leader in Jade forrest called (Ga’trul) and yet a level 12 or something Gnome warrior did it easily.
and i, a level 56 pandaren mage am struggling to defeat this same boss.
clearly there is some scaling issues. just wanted to bring it up in the hopes it get fixed, at this rate its frustrating to get to 60.
Yeah, levling up is a pain, you grow weaker with every level… until you can farm gear at max lvl. Scaling joys. … they just shouldn’t have ever touched that. Who cares if we’re lvl 200 by now and can breath at classic mobs to kill them? Would make mogg farming so much more fun. Definitely needs to be looked at at some point in time…
I went to WoD (without Chromie time on) as a 55 Hunter and found that the dungeons there were dropping higher level loot on normal than mythic as it was warforging.
I could also one shot most of it due to legacy and I got some upgrades. This was solo. Could get you a few items around 150 I would think and it makes a big difference.
I levelled two fire and two arcane mages from 45/50 to 60 when the expansion started. My alts had full heirloom gear scaling till level 60. I levelled them in various expansions although I don’t remember which one specifically as I levelled 20+ alts during that time.
It wasn’t a problem at all to level for me so I think it’s reasonable to assume it’s your gear or an unfamiliarity with the mage class.
i am very familiar with the mage class. mage, druid, and hunters are classes i understand. the rest, not so much.

also, be aware that my gear durability is currently low due to being nuked by the Pandaria warlock mobs, though i fixed it very recently when i left stranglethorn
I would suggest WoD as well.
I finished leveling all my toons from 56 to 60 in this expansion.
The intro quest gives a lot of XP and armor/weapons as well also you get a new HS that can be useful in the future.
I would advise to at least pay a visit to Legion so you can get the 2nd HS as well.
Your gear isn’t too bad, except for the trinkets which I would replace with the Swift Hand of Justice heirloom one if you don’t have the Unstable Elemental Confluence.
I’m mildly surprised that you can’t nuke Ga’trul as arcane as it definitely should be possible with your gear/spec.

As for the scaling issues, I do think that you have a point that some mobs are overtuned or rather tuned to characters fully clad in heirlooms.
With every expansion and patch scaling need to reconfigure but they dont have enough people who can do refined scaling by which we can feel power progression.
at least the gnome warrior was kind enough to help me with some of the mobs in Jade forrest, it was soo bad i almost died and ended up running and asking for help.
imagine, a level 56 mage asking a level 14 warrior for help. thats scaling.
You mean Benthic armor? The ones you need a bunch of primastic pearls for, which require grinding one of the most condensed mob populated zones of BfA? That armor?
