Please undo the hideous changes you made to levelling.
1-60 should be from the default vanilla content.
60-70 should be tbc content
70-80 should be wotlk content
this way you wont confuse the ‘‘classic’’ players who want to try retail but already feel strangers to the game they love
If they’re confused by going to Chromie and choosing an expansion, then that will be the least of their problems in life.
I like levelling this way; I actually get to see a decent amount of the zone story in places I didn’t really bother levelling in before. Better than seeing the first zone of every expansion then moving on. The Hellfire Peninsula experience is awful
You should have been there on a horde dominated TBC Classic PvP realm during the first week of TBC. It lived up to it’s first 4 letters. Took me 2 hours to get to the gate flight point and on a gryphon.
I mean, I was on a PvP server during original TBC launch
My realm was a bit more balanced though. We had about 2 weeks of a mexican standoff and unofficial ceasefire, because we all knew that once the ganking started, it wouldn’t end. People even used /sorry emotes if they accidentally clipped someone on the other faction with AoE, it was quite funny
But then it ended, and not long after that I decided PvP servers weren’t my bag and transferred off.
That aside; the zone aesthetic is horrible and the quests are tedious at best. I hated having to level alts via Hellfire and Zangarmarsh just to get to Northrend where suddenly everything got better.
Hmm, Northrend… I might take a level 20 alt and go do Howling Fjord and Grizzly Hills
Recently I have been levelling a hunter on a TBC PvE realm and I got half a level killing yetis for rugged leather at the back of the cave in winterspring. I needed over 300 leathers to get to 300 leatherworking, she is 61 now and I was still getting the same XP as I was at 60, about 500 with rest XP per kill.
A classic leveling system through all expansions could make sense when there is 2 or 3 expansion, but not when we have 9 expansions available. At that point, you have too much content so leveling becomes absolutely slow if you have to play through all or absolutely boring if is fast because you start all content and never end anything.
