Is there are level requirement to go through the dark portal or can you go through at any level?
its 58 thats why the boost is to 58
I asked because on the wow wikki site it says
"the player used to get “Must be Level 58”, but now players are able to access the region at any level. "
But I’m don’t know whether that is still going to be the case in TBC Classic

When I first went through the portal on this character I was level 55 or 56, kinda pointless though to go through before 58.
Not really, that means people like myself thatll lvl a shaman can go do ramparts at 55 instead of 58 without having to be summoned 
The quests are all minimum level 58 but you can get a mage portal to Shattrath and ride to and dungeon you want to try before 58.
I believe the portal has a minimum level of 58.
yeah indeed,
Locks can summon you to ramparts aswell.
For a healer you could go as low as 55 into ramp
