Hello

Hello

You should be around lvl 33 on such a character.
On lvl 76 characters and below you will be squished to below 30
Then get that alt to 80.
If you do not lvl the alt to 80 we will find out I guess. I think the skill will be there but that the toon is restricted to actually fly until the required lvl is reached. That way you do not lose any gold etc…

And his question is the following:
He has a character below level 80 on live that already has flying.
This character will be below level 30 in Shadowlands, where flying is unlocked at 30.
So his question is what happens to his flying skill.
Since I don’t have beta access I can’t check. But my guess would be that you keep your flying skill, but won’t be able to use it until level 30.
U will get flying skill once u are 30 or above , u don’t have to pay for it again is that is your question .
Well if they are in the air they will fall and die :c
I don’t think you unlearn riding/flying skills you’ve already learned.
On live druids learn flying automatically and for free at level 58. The game doesn’t seem to be bothered by them having the skill 2 levels before they can learn it from a trainer.
The dragon it’s riding on will toss him off, he’ll fall to the ground, and then he’ll get eaten.
Honestly though, I don’t know. Probably it’ll just dismount and you’ll have to level a bit before you get flying back.
Someone should test this. For science.
I just now copied my lvl 73 alt to beta, it turned to be lvl 28 so under new flying rule.
It can fly.
So at this build we got in beta, you can keep your flying skill if you already aquired it.
For science!!!
We don’t unlearn it on characters we import. I do not expect us all to have to relearn flying.
Just in case, don’t be on a flying mount when pre-patch hits
Another question on this subject, is flying in Northrend.
Atm, if you are leveling Alts, even if you have Northrend flying unlocked on your Main, you cannot fly in Northrend until your Alts ding lvl71… so not sure what lvl will be the equivalent, under the new system.
Ummm what? That’s not true. Why would you think that?
Last two Alts I have leveled in Northrend (from high 50s (Hunter) to low 60s (DK) could not fly…dinged lvl71…Bosh!, able to fly …both leveled in the last couple of weeks, the second one got flying today.
I have 2 alts in the 60-70 range right now and they’re able to fly in Northrend no problem. One of them I tested right now he’s never even been to Northrend before.
I’m honestly not sure how can I even replicate what you’re describing.
It surprised me too… I couldn’t remember whether you still had to buy the ‘Coldweather Flying’ tome from back in the day and I hate spending gold, so on the DK, I was just questing on the Headless Horseman’s Mount, which is the mount I normally use and which refused to fly when I got to Northrend (about lvl 62) plus using the Flight Paths… then dinged 71… and suddenly I could fly.
Same with the Hunter… got to Northrend at lvl 59, tried to fly having dinged 60, but nothing doing… quests and dungeons up to 71, once again suddenly flying was active.
It suddenly occurs to me, it may be a bug with the Headless Horseman’s mount…back in the day I don’t think you could fly in Northrend before lvl71, perhaps that mount has a glitch, where it is still recognising that restriction.
