ive been casually leveling a feral druid, at 65 now and have noticed how low my dps is, i dont think im doing anything wrong, but like a 5 point bite does like 500-600 dmg, and starsurge is hitting for 1k as balance?
im confused
Feral is kind of meh all the way. It relies heavily on bleeds (moreso than Balance relies on Moonfire/Sunfire), and often the mob dies before the DoT duration is out. The ‘bite’ isn’t really meant to hit as hard as a starsurge.
Overall leveling as balance was more comfortable and fast.
Are you letting your energy run up to 50 before using FB? The extra energy usage bumps it’s damage a lot.
I levelled two Druids Balance and Feral. Balance was slow and boring and I found feral fast and engaging. It also provides great healing. The only thing is to take right talents to keep your energy up otherwise you wait. Also it has decent AoE, enough for levelling. Just keep all bleeds on multiple targets, such as Rip, Rake, Trash, and use Predator talent which cause Tiger’s Fury reset if your target dies. Use also Berserk on CD when you have more targets.
One more thing, 60-80 is the worst, the slowest stage of levelling.
Another top tip if youre on a single mob and have the talent to lengthen out rip based on combo points is to use a single 1 point rip and then build to a ferocious bite and then you can just spam ferocious bite with rake and rip ticking at full strength, you do need to start at full energy or have tigers for this, otherwise youll need a 2+ point rip =)
(Not including snap shotting =p)
Same feeling here, maybe it’s the heirlooms, dps is very low (have to spend 5 combos 3 or 4 times to kill a non elite same lvl), survivability is very low (have to cc even a single add not to die), heal is very low (regrowth is 10+3% hp, a heal pot is 50% hp by comparison lola chore to lvl. It’s sad, really want to solo this guy to 120 but it’s just frustrating feeling so weak.
<== This char.
Why do you complain. It’s the feral spec which always feels like in the current expansion.
I’m currently leveling a Druid, too, and around level 40, I just gave up on Feral and went Guardian. Time to kill per enemy is a bit lower, but I can pull 4-5 enemies at a time without dying, so the quest completion time is much faster.
Enable War Mode, get Sharpened Claws from the PvP talents, and you’ll kill stuff faster. Get Resto Affinity. The loss of movement speed is negligble, and the added healing will keep you alive through pretty much anything.
Sadly, Feral doesn’t really shine until you can get your AOE talents and Predator Swiftness. And some solid gear.
I have a feral druid and also an assassination rogue. They are both extremely similar classes, I’d say around 90% same abilities and ideas. I found the Feral Druid more engaging than the Assassination Rogue due to the talent makeup and the interactions between spells, especially the talent Bloodtalons and the knowledge of when to refresh DoTs based on buffs: SavageRoar, TigersFury, Bloodtalons. You need to know how strong the previous Rip was and if it is worth refreshing again if you now have more/better buffs. If you have taken Sabertooth you need to Bite to refresh the Rip. Tiger’s Fury should be on cooldown, Savage Roar up at all times. Keep tabs on Rake and Rip, as explained above, how strong were the previous ones and can you do better. Then and only then you Bite. When you get Predatory Swiftness you can heal instantly. But if you have Bloodtalons then wait for 4+ combos then cast Regrowth and then you get Bloodtalons buff which means your next 2 Rake/Rip will be buffed. Then you do as I said above, remember the previous Rip/Rake and is it worth refreshing.
In all a very engaging spec, must more than the Assassin.
and bleeds are broken, at least at 120…
Most useless sheiy you “must” apply…
jsut horrific
