Leveling as Resto Shaman

Hi,

since I finally reached level 110 and can begin with BfA content I wanted to switch from enhancement to restoration shaman. Mainly because I want to play primarily as healer when I get to level 120.

But… leveling as resto seems to take forever and the “DPS rotation” (Flameshock, Lava Burst, Chain Lightning) is a bit lackluster.

So I wondered how other resto shamans leveled up. Did you stay in DPS spec and respecced at level 120? Or did you level in resto spec? If so, will it become more fun once I replace the old gear with more fitting items for resto? Or will it always feel a bit sluggish?

I do all world content as elemental. U can do good dps as resto, but need the right azerite traits and essences i feel. It just goes faster as ele for me at least. I would just quest as ele and maybe do some dungeons as resto. And everything feels sluggish until u get to 120 and get some more haste items.

I found enhancement best for leveling. The direct damage makes things easier.
You won’t learn the healing playstyle anyway untill you get into harder dungeons at 120, so you’re not missing out on practice.

I always leveled in dps spec, back then ele, nowadays enhancement.
Resto dps rotation is just bad and boring (and missing any aoe).
Equipment-wise it’s basically just weapons and trinkets, everything else changes.
On 120 you need a good dps setup anyway, be it for solo content, world quests or visions.

I would suggest you try both enhancement and elemental and see what you like better, use that to level. You can heal in dungeons, of course, usually queuing as a healer is a lot faster, too.

Thank you for the answers.
I guess I will continue with enhancement until 120 then.
