I’m a returning player, I did some warmode at the start of bfa and I enjoyed it. I had some great fights, sometimes I got zerged but all in all I thought it was great.
Yesterday I was leveling my monk, I hit 60 and took the boat to northrend. I died twice just getting off the boat to a 120 monk. I walked back from the grave and revived in the inn. I was ganked three more times by random 120s while inside the inn trying to get quests.
After 5 deaths while in the alliance town, I turned warmode off. I literally had warmode on for 10 minutes before going back to regular mode. Is this the norm now for warmode? I was looking forward to some wpvp but what I experienced wasn’t fun in anyway. The 120s literally running around the alliance town 1 hitting me then ignoring the low level guards like they’re nothing.
Are all questing hubs just a high level gank fest now?
Sadly, yes. I’ve had to turn mine off too because the people my level didn’t want to fight, and the one’s who did were max level with corruptions seeping from their pores.
I’ve started playing on RP servers because they are a little more chill. The 120s haven’t bothered me at all, and the rest of them will only attack when you’re knee-deep in mobs, but are quite bad so they are basically free honor.
World PvP was always all about max levels griefing and corpse camping lowbies + 24/7 attacks on quest hubs like Honor Hold in hellfire peninsula.
Bad players that get stomped in bg’s, duels and arenas want some satisfaction and feel pro, that they killed someone no matter their level.
Take away Bonus % to xp etc. and NOBODY would turn it on. Blizzard bait and tempt people, that don’t want pvp at all to turn warmode on.
I’m 100% sure they knew, that stinking horde would dominate it since BFA’s launch and onwards, but despite that they added Warmode XD
30% Bonus will probaly stay for the entire Shadowlands expansion.
They will never balance/fix it. So better remove it.
I leveled 4 chars with war mode on this last month, in chromie time Tbc, Wotlk, Pandaria, and Wod. Only disliked it in two occasions where I kept being killed by a higher level and logged off. So it wasn’t that bad.
This is what warmode and PvP servers are my friend. There is no balance or anything that could change it or that I want implemented. You should feel free to go and do whatever you want in warmode. You got unlucky, if you cant handle the heat get out of the frying pan. Ie: If you dont like it turn it off.
