Leveling with extras (enchatments)

Hey guys,

I have a weird idea. I started to level an other character because why not and allied race hype. I have heirlooms which are handy and stuff but I thought I could bring them to the next level with legacy enchantments. Just to have that little extras when I decide to play a round or two on the battlegrounds or entering a random dungeon.

The question is, what do you recommend as legacy enchantments for the heirlooms? I suppose there’s some head, chest, etc. enchantments from Cata/MoP/WoD/Legion but I didn’t bother them until now / forgot what I used on the previous expansions (mostly nothing). For the weapons, the BfA enchantments works somewhat well.

Please be kind and recommend me some enchantments available in AH for every slot (except weapons and rings) ^^

Thanks!

WoD or BfA wep enchants. For the neck/cloak/wrist/chest/rings/shield just look up whats cheapest but still has the most value.

Shoulder enchants from MoP. Do have to apply it on a character which is 90-92 and then mail the heirloom else it wont work.

I think there’s some legs ench. from Cata aswell but I’m not too sure about that.

Kinda bad that I can’t filter the AH by expansions :frowning: I guess I have to do the hard work with searching legacy profession guides and search the enchantments manually.

Can you recommend please a ring or some non-heirloom slot gear with socket (alt is currently lvl40)? I’d really use an Insightful Rubellite for the extra XP.

I found this spreadsheet on Reddit. It’s a post from seven months ago but I presume it still applies.

Wow, thanks. Kinda helpful in a way but these enchantments cost a fortune o_O

There is 1 enchant though you should get 100% and that is mark of the hidden satyr for your neck.
The damage on low levels is quite huge and procs roughly every 3 mobs.

I’ll definitely get one then. Come to think of it, it’s a one-time investment since I can give the neck heirloom to whichever alt I want to level.

Maybe someone in your guild is an enchanter and can help you out?

Time to roll an Enchanter…

… or this.

Must admit this occurred to me, for my (now L74) Dark Iron Paladin - never early to parties, me - and was wondering what ones to use.

Thanks, @alendrith-argentdawn

Nah, I won’t bother my guildies with things like this. I doubt that I could find enchanters and scribes with Cata/MoP/WoD/Legion recipes.

I’d rather buy it then, y’know, rolling the economy.

@Eighjan-Terokkar: your welcome ^^

I know you said you weren’t keen to use that method but you can see what recipes people in your guild have using the Roster.

In case you wanted to, or for future reference:-

  • Press J
  • Make sure your Guild is selected on the left hand side
  • Click on the roster tab (on right hand side)
  • Change the drop down menu to ‘Profession’
  • Make sure ‘Show Offline Members’ is ticked
  • Next to where it says Enchanting click ‘View All’
  • Search for the relevant enchant
  • Click on ‘View Crafters’

Extra question: the spreadsheet’s mage tab says that I should use Elemental Force and Greater Intellect for the main and off-hand. The problem is, there isn’t a intellect dagger heirloom (or I’m just blind), only maces for main which can’t be used as a mage.

Am I really blind or the guide is mistaken?

edit:

Wow, I didn’t know that. There’s actually a few enchater and scribe gods among the guild’s ranks o_o I’ll give them a whisper when they online.

Only thing I knew is that the GM is a master tailor, I only had to mail him a few MoP mats to buy the recipe - well, he made the wrong chest+legs for transmog (what I currently wear)

Yeah that is odd. I’ve always used the staff heirloom and I’m not aware of any intellect dagger.

Depends on the class you play, but generally for casters any intellect/spell power enchants are really good, followed by either haste or versatility. Sure you can use enhants from BfA or WoD, but i always prefer passive damage bonuses instead.
For a mage two-hand weapon i usually put spell power, just because elemental force loses its value the higher you go, while the spell power scales. For melee, crusader enchant is strong and for ranged there was a scope which procs agility…but it can be expensive.

General rule is that you want to get as much primary stat as possible, first and foremost, when there are none available anymore, its modifiers like versatility, or haste for more casts.

I’ll be honest, I’m kinda noob when it comes to legacy content knowledge. I’m pretty familiar with Legion and very confident when it comes to BfA but I’m just lost when it comes to something usually dealt with years ago. Thus I can’t really tell when a random enchantment or item in the AH is worth the gold or not - for the leveling alts of course, I usually reap the benefits in the current content (most of the time).

Here’s how my warrior looks like: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/argent-dawn/Ronathel

It feels so good to have this amount of enchantments! So much to talk about, do some theorycrafting and so on. Now? Check Icy-veins and get the enchantments for rings and weapons :frowning:

Well, since the BfA pre-patch, or well, BfA in general ,and it’s whole power scaling, right now you are better off getting as much raw power as possible, be in strength, intellect or agility plus versatility.
You can, also stack things crit or haste but only if your class/spec supports it through some passives or spells or whatever, but still getting flat out damage increases is just superior.

For your warrior, crusader enchant would be strong, like if i recall it gives 70 strength per proc, and can have 2 up at a time., which is strong even up to lvl 90+

Also, you can technically get a leg enchant, but just like for shoulders, ya need a char in like lvl 85-95 range or so, since heirlooms scale and they have an ilvl limit.

P.S SInce i’m an altoholic who always likes to put stack enchants on gear just for the fun of it ;p

As a mage you can use sword and dagger for main hand, but I fear none of those heirlooms offer intellect.
The offhand item do though, so you can, if you feel like it, sacrifice int on your main hand for the int on the offhand+enchant.
You still get the crit/haste from the main hand weapon.

IIRC the rubelite has an item level limit so you can’t put it in really low level gear. Outside of crafted items you can, at level 80, go into ICC and buy for gold some gear with sockets so you can use an insightful + striding gems to help speed up the last 40.

Thanks, I will try to power level quickly to 80+ (we have timewalking this week too)

If you’re getting anything, make sure it’s the elemental force for weapon and satyr for neck. The rest are not that noticeable and it’s a hasle to apply all of them. For my shadow priest, I used mostly haste, she was a void monster.
