Levelling in BFA content, why is it so brutal?

I’ve been playing this game for 16 years and for the first time since that I feel like I’m playing the game completely wrong. Am I doing something really whack or are BFA areas just broken compared to everywhere else?

There aren’t even any quest rewards, my item level is 12 at level 24, hardly any quests give loot.

BFA zones are broken, that’s just it. They failed with lvl squish in old content

You can always pick a different zone like WoD so it’s fast and you save your sanity

BFA content was designed with having the Azerite necklace and Azerite gear to go with it in mind.

But with leveling changes, you only get it at level 50 when you actually don’t need it.

So quests which would normally award gear (Azerite gear almost exclusively) now rarely give gear because the bulk of the gear drops (Azerite gear) occur after hitting level 50.

You’re leveling up without access to the gear the zones were designed around!

its a shame, really, given how “new” players have to finish bfa first in order to have access to chromie. they really should add a bit more gear to bfa questing. :frowning:

Yeah, it’s savage. Which is a shame because the zones and questlines are pretty good.

Maybe buy some gear on the AH if you have the gold?

Thankfully, you only have to do it once to unlock Chromie time and then you can do MoP, WoD or Legion questing which is so much easier by comparison.

Good luck!

I leveled 2 alts in BFA (today I finished leveling a hunter), and you’re definitely overplaying the “problem”.

You can do most all content no matter the gear, and queuing up for some random dungeons will net you some blues to go around and a level worth of XP.

We level so fast that it’s not uncommon to have slots left behind. You can craft items or buy them on AH if you are really struggling. I use heirlooms on most characters so it’s not too bad.

Best answer here .

I’m not sure about that. This standard quest mob I’m looking at has 4000hp and my character does 40dps.

It would take me 100 seconds to kill it, but as he does 1/4 of my healthbar per hit it’s a bit moot.

There’s your issue, you need to press abilities while fighting, press P to open your spellbook and find some.
