Real quick. I know they give wrath classic ZERO attention and the way they remade the game was by using the most simplified methods, so I try not to be bothered when I witness the cluckload of bugs and misscripts on a daily.
This one I’m just most curious about. Well this and the superlong-ranged random melee swings.
I’ve tested hit rating running at more than 12% /Arena 2s. For an entire evening once/. On a weird server tick both me and my guy would always miss, mostly if there’s a paladin in the game, but it’s happened with other classes. Anyone who’s more educated enlighten me please.
There’s some kind of bug going on with misses in PvP where multiple consecutive hits will miss in like a one second period. I’ve read about it on the forums before.
Here’s a clip of it https ://clips.twitch.tv/MiniatureSteamyOysterOpieOP-Hiz3TGV9PF7dgeAO
There are talents and racials that affect this, also for casters it is 4%
Belf racial requires 2% more hit to eliminate
Sub rogue and Ret paladin PvP talents give them an extra 4% miss chance
People these days run somewhere around 6-8%, more than that and you have to sacrifice too much to get the hit for such infrequent scenarios
Nice cut paste - but- hit cap for PvP is 3% - and yes - it’s PvP so some racial and talents will cause you to miss as a player dodges your attack.
There has been discussion that you could ‘over-hit’ - so have so much hit you can hard counter - never seen any stats to support it.
A Caster at 3% from gear is at 6% minimum plus whatever party buff is received from group - so well over hit cap.
Unlike HC or Raid the racial abilities and class abilities of your opponent will be a factor
But stacking 17% hit would not hard counter those abilities - it would just diminish your other main stats, Crit/ Haste / SP etc.
EDIT - There has been a suggestion that some PvP players have been using deliberate lag on their toon to create an environment where the system can’t log a true location vs a player at normal lag - which will create more misses - Eastern European players seem to be the main exploiters
No cut and paste, the soft pvp hit cap for spells is 4%. A lot of talents are hit chance for a single spell school only, for example SP shadow focus is shadow hit. But dispel magic/mass dispel are not shadow school, so you still need to gear to overcome the -hit
There was a blue post about it in the beta that hit rating would overcome these -hit talents/racials in wrath. It was not doing that in TBC.
Are you saying playing with high ping affects your character stats? Have to be trolling?
Creating high lag stops the location data passing through the server in anything approaching real time - so high lag from your opponent will make them appear to be where they are not - you should take a close look at that - its becoming more and more common - Blizz will need to address this
This ain’t really about hit caps, we all know what hit rating is required against what, 90% of when this happens is when a paladin is in the group. Only thing other than complete bad scripting or bugs that I can think of rn is maybe the Sacred Cleansing talent displays “miss” when a spell gets resisted, it might be that, but then again it doesn’t explain missing a spell on a solo target that only has the regular 3% chance to not be hit, and no paladins involved.
“Spell hit and resistance formulas have been updated to match 3.3.5. Notably, extra chance for spells to miss gained from talents and racial abilities can now correctly be overcome with additional spell hit.”
Was talking about the talents, not the hit cap. Also I been running 6% since the beginning of wrath, misses still happen for two globals in a row sometimes. Lol.
