LF Draenei Racials as a Death Knight

So. I suppose I am not the only fool in this room who honest to all that is holy will be a tad disappointed if Blizzard does not bother to “convert” the LF Draenei racials if you play them as a DK? Light’s Judgement and Light’s Reckoning should both deal shadow damage rather than holy. The healing from Light’s Reckoning can be maintained as a “The light that still lingers within” healing allies upon death but apart from that; Both abilities should deal shadow damage - And have their names changed to “Death’s” in the least or have their full names changed.

I could also speak about their Forge of Light but honestly the two aforementioned abilities takes president and if THEY are changed… Why would Forge of Light not be?

Like come on? I am not the only one who actually wants this to be the case?

You’re not, but blizzard only cares about lore when they can use it as an excuse to not do something.

The paladin, Sir Zeliek in Naxxramas, uses the Light, so it’s not impossible. It’ll probably be agonizing though.

Personally I think they’ll not change it.

If they do then they should change how Holy spec looks on Void elves or how LF priests can use shadow magic when they spec shadow. Or… how LF can become Death Knights in the first place, well… I’m not sure about the last one.

Undead can use Holy magic, it’s painful for them and there are physical consequences but still they’re not unable to use it; so in theory is plausible.

We have examples in-game: Forsaken Priest and Sir Zeliek that use Holy abilities even if there are undead (although he’s a particular case, but I guess LF Death Knights are indeed a particular case).

They will not… Just like they will not change this stupid full-name:

Lightforged Draenei Death Knight

I cringed just by thinking about it
Hopefully there will be only 0.0001% of weirdos who will make them

They should not exist. LightFORGED does not mean LightUSING. Creature remade by light should not be raised by death~ shadow. Lich King Bolvar is not Calia/Naaru and Zeliek is not Lightforged.

  • We dont have LightDeath Knights as playable class.*

  • We have ShadowDeath Knights as playable class.*

(*Unless we will get Light-Fire Spec)

I mean Christie golden already massacred the lore so y’know, at this point I don’t even care.

The lore has been thoroughly trampled on since some author felt the need to insert humans and orcs into the war of the ancients around 2004, raising the big fat question why the night elves didn’t recognize orcs when they actually had a statue of one standing around and many lived to see him in person.

It’s not even beating a dead horse anymore. The corpse has decayed to a point where authors are merely kicking the bones down the road.

There is no need to change them as it is common knowlege that the undead can wield holy magic so long as their faith remains.

Converting the racials to shadow damage would just make Unholy DKs do even more AoE then they’re already capable of. Imagine Lights Judgement being converted to shadow damage with the Unholy racial (increase in shadow damage), yes its on a long cooldown but it would still make for an OP way to burst another player down.

I should make one and name her “makessense”

… that makes even less sense. Unholy shadow wielding death knight hardly believes in light in any shape or form.

I’ve come to accept that the lore is now just an impediment.

And yet we still wait for Tauren Rogues, Draenei Warlocks, Undead Paladins and Worgen Monks

… and gnome druids.

You should read up on sir zeliek, one of the original 4 horsemen.

So long as their faith is strong enough before becoming undead, they can still utilise the light despite being an undead abomination that could quite easily also use the shadows of the unholy.

  1. They were different Death Knights~ Created by Kelthuzad - not Lich King, nor anyone from Acherus.
  1. Zeliek was not LIGHTFORGED~ he had high faith and willpower but was not a CREATURE remade by naaru and filled with light (Even touch of shadow makes them feel agonizing pain)
  1. Blizzard stated that individuals are not making exceptions in lore. Fact that Zeliek “can” does not mean that army of other Death Knights can too.

There are literally random skeletons in icecrown that use the light… apparantly it really doesn’t take that much.

The simple fact is, the lightforgeds new undead life would be one of pain and misery regardless of which element they choose to utilise.

Well… There is no point trying to convince you. You play next level of abomination that is Worgen DK so you clearly accepted all what is silly.

Sir Zeliek is the sole single exception to Death Knights wielding the light. Exceptions don’t make the rule.

It’s the same case with that one Blood elf druid boss in one of the TBC dungeons.

… and night elf paladin in Legion.

I’m ok with that. I only wish they would replace Demonbane and Light’s Reckoning with something useful, as they are useless, honestly.
