I don’t use the one button rotation. But of course tried it out to see how it works. For mage the 1st thing it always casts is Frozen Orb → at the targets location instantly. Which made me realise there must be a macro for this. Anyone, please?
/cast [@target] Frozen Orb doesn’t work.
Is Frozen Orb a reticle spell? If so, not possible.
Blizz has explicitly said multiple times that they don’t want reticle spells to be castable at targets, and went out of their way to break it the one time it was possible.
That said, they’ve begun giving the option for some reticle abilities to have targeted versions (Earthquake, Shadow Crash) so hopefully that trend continues.
However, if it’s a reticle spell and you’re looking for a macro to automatically cast it where you cursor is, that’s doable.
#showtooltip
/cast [@cursor] Frozen Orb
Frozen Orb with the PvP talent becomes a reticle spell, yes. But I see. Can then only hope that it will change in the future. Since it’s standard implemented in the 1 button rotation, I had hope that there’s some sort of code for it.
It happens now very often in PvP situations for instance that the orb lands on an obstacle like a tree or baseflag, and hangs in the air.
I am familiar with the [@cursor] option, ty ![]()
