LFG feels like a marketplace — gold/tip gating for M+, Arena, and even transmog. Please intervene

Hi Blizzard team,

Lately the Group Finder has felt less like “looking for a group” and more like browsing a market. A few examples I’m running into every day:

  • Mythic+: You get invited to a key, then you’re told “pay Xk gold to run” or “tip required or you’re out.”

  • Arena: Premades are saturated with boost/coaching for gold ads, which makes it hard to find real partners.

  • Transmog farms: Listings say “Any tip,” but once you join it turns into a requirement.

This hurts the experience: it excludes players who don’t want to pay, wastes time, encourages predatory behavior, and pushes people away from normal grouping.

What I’m asking for:

  • Enforce a clear rule: no paywalls/tip requirements in LFG.

  • Improve LFG with a filter to hide posts that include gold amounts or “tip.”

  • If paid runs are allowed, confine them to Trade chat or a separate channel, not LFG.

  • Consider limiting gold/Token mentions in LFG text.

I love WoW and want to play, not haggle. Please help restore LFG to what it should be: a tool to play together, not a shop.

Thanks for reading.

Look I understand you’ve used AI to make your post more readible but… You could’ve used that to find the support article below too.

This includes any and all references to “tips”, “tipping”, or other synonyms of these words

This already exists.

Individuals and guilds selling boost or assistance in raiding, dungeon, or PvP activities for gold is allowed but can only be advertised in-game through the Trade Services chat channel. Advertising for gameplay activities should be done by a WoW player-character who intends to participate in the gameplay activities. This means there should be no cross-realm advertising, and there should be no advertising from non-participating players.

Accounts that are used for the primary purpose of advertising may be closed..

There are chatfilters, if they would expand on this they would find another buzzword or normal chat becomes impossible.

There are chat addons that may assist you with filtering and/or reporting such malicious users. If you filter M+ at certain levels you won’t be able to see most ads, according another poster, try that out too?

If you’ve got better suggestions feel free to add them through the ingame feedback panel.

I know these all implemented in the game already.
But what im asking for is that they should care more about this, everyone see that ingame these days, thats insane, what ever you want to do they ask for tip or gold. what is that!!! when wow was like this? yes trade chat is ok and legal i even used it for myself.

But now its really different…

Yea I do agree the spam is really super annoying and they promised some while back to do something about it.

Since then I noticed they have reduced… Slightly but not all of it ofcourse HMPF.

Just report the people who are demanding a tip for their runs in LFG as advertisement since that is what they are doing. Even if I dont do those keys ive started to do that myself since its disgusting.

Considering that the LFG is regionwide, Blizz can’t be bothered to have someone in their CS/“GM” do random checks for those WTS groups and hand out immediate suspensions to them… instead, yet again, leaving it to players to do the job for them.

It is a marketplace .you are hunting for potential sacrifices i mean party members

I report every sale from lfg

Likewise.,

You arebetter of leaving. Blizzard do not have man power nor interest in these things.

Game has to achieve certain financial goals and doing investigations cost money.

You can file or report or whatever, but they likely end up in an unopen bucket. Just like when you make an uofficiel applikation to a company that you really like and wish to work for. They also have eletronical ttrash buckets where all of these are placed for years untill gdpr requires deletion.
