Give the man a raise,he excludes people that pay a monthly sub from a core element of the game in order to force them to add an authenticator.no i dont want an authenticator,i never did
Stop getting ideas from pay to win korean mobile mmos and while this isnt a pay to win case,the idea is the same.not a paywall but an authenticator wall

no no no, not JUST an authenticator, but an authenticator AND SMS Protect are needed to leave a note. “You have cell phones, don’t you!?”

Yep. It’s so dumb that basic features like a small text box requires an authenticator and SMS protection.

It is to protect your account tho, if you get hacked you gonna complain about blizzard not helping you out because of reason. Its not too hard to activate the authenticator and you dont need to use the authenticator alot so I dont see a point NOT to use it…

I don’t see a valid reason to not use 2-step authentification.
Also it prevents bots from advertising their websites in LFG.

This is the actual reason. It’s a 0 effort way for Blizz to moderate ads in LFG list. Nothing else. Weirdos who don’t want the authenticator for whatever reason are just collateral.

Don’t quote me on that but I think you can setup an auth for the purposes of LFG note and then just turn it off in account settings.
As much as I hate the LFG tool you really should get an authenticator either way.

I’m completely with OP on this matter.
I’ve been a paying customer since 2005 and yet I am treated like a lesser being for not having an authenticator.
This is ridiculous, and anybody defending this speak up so I can put you on ignore.
Imagine not being able to resist downloading keyloggers and virusses that you need third party help to secure your own account.
Why does it have to be FORCED? I’ll never get an authenticator, and I’ll NEVER need one.
This does nothing against bots or whatever, this only punishes innocent, paying customers.

I’ve used my authenticator twice or so since starting Classic, once on first login and a second time after a big Windows update.
It’s not the inconvenience it was when authenticators first came out.

I have no phone, i cant use it and i hate it!
I don’t care how convenient or helpful it may be for you. Good that you like it, but it’s completely pointless for me and I should not be treated like a 2nd class customer because of it.
They can add stupid companion pets and extra bag space, they should not limit certain things for those who choose not to.
What’s next, forcing our passwords to contain a number, a capital letter, a math problem and the names of 3 presidents with their year of death?
You getting hacked is going to be 99.9999% your own fault, and that extremely slim 0.0001% chance cann happen regardless of having an auth or not. If some bigbrain hacker wants your sh!t, he’ll have your sh!t.

This was added because hackers were using someone else’s accounts to make groups with advertisments. So now hackers either have access to account without ability to make groups with custom titles/notes (so no more possibility to advertise) or they just can’t hack someone’s account without access to their authenticator/phone.
I’m not disagreeing that the tool is stupid, I think you know this 
I’m just saying that losing control of your account doesn’t only happen from the vectors you described.

wraith could have been a very good game if devs (a bunch of students?) only limited max lvl and carried over ALL THE GOOD CHANGES from retail!
