So it is retconned this expansion that his helmet and sword came from the Runecarver or what? And that it was hidden on azeroth?
Sadly yes it’s another retcon.
Even the Lich king taking the Nerubian architecture for the Scourge is not retconed (and no one seems to realize this second point).
Who knows. Not clear so far. The “blueprints” are from Runecarver, that’s true. But at the same time in the very beginning of the expansion there is such line:
Overseer Kah-Delen (Tether to Home):
The map table in this chamber was put in place long ago by the First Ones, the wise architects of all you see. If you have a memento from your homeworld, place it there. The table’s magic can establish a connection.
Most people I talked to about it simply dismiss that it can have any impact. I can’t tell, maybe it means something, maybe not.
Not really. That is an odd thing. Because the origin is supposedly related to Maldraxxus. But similar architecture then is found in both Black Empire and tol’vir settlements. So, it’s not clear what is the path of it all. Scourge is still using nerubian stuff, but we only have a hint that it might be revealed later where did nerubians got their inspiration for the stuff.

I don’t know about Frostmourne, IIRC, the armor and helmet were allegedly made in the Twisting Nether by the Legion in order to make the Lich King their pawn. But then Ner’Zhul had his own plans.
So this now being made by our friend and pal Runecarver is…weird. Now, of course it may be that the Jailer had his deal with the Legion, too (I mean, he has his deals all over the place); so maybe they’ll connect the two somehow.
I’m honestly more worried about the “oooo ominous ancient conspiracy” undercurrent of what I’ve seen so far. That’s just low-hanging fruit and lazy writing. Can’t make a compelling story? Invoke the Illuminati!
have to also rember Sargeras and specialy kil jaden lied a lot, so saying the sword and helm was made in the twisting nether is totaly fine buy them to do.
Personaly I think this goes way deeper, what we know is that the Nazerhim made the helm and sword, or stole them form the rune carver, now question is, did they actualy even steal them or was they given to them buy the Jailer, you se if the later and the jailer actualy gave them the items, this would meen, the drealords literaly played Sargeras totaly, what would make perfect sence if they originated from the shadowlands in the first place.
Considering how similar the nerubians are to the members of the House of Eyes in Maldraxxus, and how similar their theme is, it would not surprise me if they were retconned to be Maldraxxi who were sent to Azeroth to spy on the other races. That would explain their architecture.
Of course, they could also be completely unrelated, and their similarities could be but a mere coincidence.
Another possibility is that due to the proximity to the thinnest part of the veil and the anchor to the Shadowlands (which is basically what Icecrown always was), the nerubians were influenced and molded by the Maldraxxi from beyond, either directly or indirectly.
They’re really crapping all over the source material.
