So as the title suggests. Why not? We already have Fel based DH and Warlock, I think it would be very suitable to have Light based ranged dps.
The thing is, all the tools are already there burried into the healig specs of Holy and Disc. I personally think the Legion design for dps for Disc was very cool. That could be reintroduced as a dps spec if it’s dps aspects were amplified. Or simply use the Holy design for dps, tho that one is rather dry casting.
I don’t even mention how visually stunning they would look with all the cool animations TWW introduced (like runes the Oracle uses).
There is also the technical issue that if you play Priest for dps, and if Shadow Priest is no longer to your liking for any reason, you have to reroll the class! It would give an option for people to stick to their main.
I think with increasing emphasis on Light and Void themes, this is the right time.
