I recently did a quest that stated - Necromancy is necromancy. Done by light or death.
So in character, lightforged Draenei Death Knights, have they lost connection to light?

Probably just as connected to the light as dozens of other undead. Likely even more since the lightforged have jammed light-infused crystals into themselves.
Honestly I doubt even Blizzard could tell you lol Danuser and the gang are too busy butchering old, established lore to care or think about anything else.
IMO - they’re probably slightly still connected to the light but becoming a DK (being raised after death) probably makes most of their “lightforged” connection useless.

Someone once told me that Lightforged Draeneis should not become Deathknights.
Because either the ressurection fails and something similar happened when Darion tried to raise Tirion.
Or they are able to break the Lightforging and so turn him into a normal Draenei Death Knigh.
But I am actually not surprised anymore after they got the Undead the Monk, a class that is using the spirit of life.
