Lightforged Draenei Shadow Priest is so very wrong!

I do not understand why Lightforged Draenei even can be Shadow Priests.

It is so very wrong when they are about the light and Shadow Priests are about the darkness(Shadow) so I think Shadow Priest shall be removed from Lightforged Draenei and only be able to be Discipline and Holy priest.

its wrong ur ally tbh

So is holy priest forsaken but there we go.

Gameplay > lore.

Treat them as “shadowforged” Draenei, disciples of a Dark/Fallen Naaru

Or like the Demon Hunters; tho’ the Light’s main enemy (for some strange reason) was/is the Legion (and not not th Shadow, its opposite… aaaand the Legion actually waged the whole Burn the universe war just to get rid of the Void… so the Legion main enemy was/is the Void…) some Lightforged studied the forbidden darkness, to understand and use it as a weapon - after all, they are brainwashed fanatical cult, treat them as splinter group of a cult

Or take the Light and Void are the sides of the same coin thus’ ment to be known

Or knowledge and truth, if you will… after all A’dal was very open wit the whole, yeah, wounded or dead Naaru sometimes ends up as void gods/dark naaru, while Xe’ra kept the whole enchilada as secret for more than 25K years from the Lightforged, its natural after the cat was out the bag and some fel-elf eyebeam murdered their lightmother/goddess and the turth was revealed (and a not so revered Prophet quickly gathered the bits of the said goddess to stuff in a machine they conviniently had lying around and what you know, needed some Naaru corpse pieces…), they wanted to know the Truth and that path lead to the studying of the Void (Umbric would be so proud)

And then we have void elf destruction warlocks, even tho in Hellfire Citadel we learned that mixing fel and void together will make for a nice explosion. So in truth whenever a void elf destruction warlock starts casting a chaos bolt they should explode on the spot.

What you actually thought Blizzard care about the story and why some things just really shouldn’t be this or that?

Lightforged Draenei shadow priests are like LFD DK’s.

Utterly ridiculous, but hey. It sounded good at the meeting.

Thats more of an anomaly and under special circumstances kinda explosion tho’
From the begining 'locks spells were from the shadow/void school 80% of the time

Yes they were from the shadow school, like shadow priests had shadow spells. This entire void stuff is a rather recent retcon.

Thats not that impossible actually, yes upon death they release an explosion of light, but the body remains and your soul is free to drag back - yes they are fanatically loyal to the Naaru/Light, but fanaticism not really grant any protection from dark magic (usually the opposite, just makes you a preffred target). That Lightplosion is more like the bomb in your teeth if you are an agent, than an insurance you will be fine after death (relegious fanatics firmily belive even with a TNT belt they will go to Heaven, just to name one, or it is their ticket to go there… and god I hope not, anyway you get waht I try to say)…
Then a Necromancer came along, gather wathever reamined of you and the fun begins

Recent is a bit relaitve, Void = Shadow was in the game from a very long time
Actually even in WC1 - by the manual - there were Orc Necrolytes that used their spells to see into places he cannot travel with a spell called Dark Vision. Wherever the slightest shadow is cast, the sight of the Necrolyte can enter and view. The effects of this spell are limited in size, for too much knowledge of the confines of shadow has been known to forever trap the caster within the realm of darkness
Sure one can argue the “realm of Darkness” not ment to be the Void back them, but fitting…
But yeah, you are right, the more refined Void=Shadow came later, around the now defunct tabletopp WoW RPG

Personally I just find the idea of a race who are inherently built around the light somehow being able to become living (sic) avatars of everything that defies the notion of The Light leaving a sour taste. But that’s just me.

Funny you mentioned that
The Eredar came from Argus, and Argus’s World Soul, the Titan Argus was ment to be the Titan of Death
Sure, the Naaru snached some Eredar away and re-named themselves to the “Exlied Ones” aka Draenei and some of those Draenei were indoctrinated and infused but originally, at the fundamental level, the race itself was born as the “child of the Death Titan” like we are the Childrens of Azeroth (a god knows what Titan)
But yeah, its a bit silly at first glance

Ever heard of Void elf holy priest?

I feel good,
Na na na na, na na na.
I knew that i would now.

How can we have gnome warrior it is totally wrong !
