I don’t understand how people struggle with these race/class/spec combinations.
I mean, it’s a roleplaying game. Use your imagination and your creativity. You are allowed to!
Lightforged Draenei Shadow Priest.
Easy.
You’re a former Draenei Priest who had lost faith in the Light of the Naaru and in your despair had begun dabbling in the Void.
Through a series of your own personal roleplaying events you regain hope and faith and once again devote yourself to the Light, and complete the Lightforged trials.
But over time, in the wake of all the terror and destruction in the world, you once again succumb to despair and the temptation of the Void.
So now you are Lightforged, but like Arthas before Stratholme, your Light dims as you progress down a darker path.
Easy. And I don’t even do roleplaying.
What Blizzard provides is a framework. Within that framework you’re allowed to make your own personal story for your character.
Actually, UD using light as Holy or disc is/was a thing. The old explaination was they could use it, but they would feel immense pain in doing so.
Undead, in this case Forsaken, was originally masters of willpower and that was reflected in a higher spirit pool and in the ability called Will of the Forsaken.
Yet iirc using too much of their holy powers would eventually burn them to cinders, and there’s only one UD who can actually channel the light with little to no issues afaik ( Alonsus Faol right ? )
Even Alleria, prominent member of the Army of Light under none other than Xe’ra herself ended up neck deep in the Void
A Lightforged Shadow Priest I guess is a new pehnomenon; remember Xe’ra conveniently forgot to mention the tiny little detail of her species Darkened state and how the brightest light cast the darkest shadow in the form of Void Gods…
The Lightforged not only had to face the fact, their “goddes” was a manipulative bi* ch who gladly sacrifice the free will of anyone to make sure her prophecies come to pass and her Project: Choesen One works (and an added bonus, the revered Prophet Valen, their Savior just shrugged when some fel-infused Elf blasted her to smithereens, and pated a random dude’s shoulder “now go and fetch those naaru bits, we have a nice device that needs a power source, chop chop, move! Oh and while you are there, grab some void core too, will ya? Good lad”)
But they had to relize, their Naaru
a, not really told them everything, especially not about the Void and
b, she was a bit odds with others of her race eg. A’dal, and co who don’t give a sh*t about her grand plan and sent a team of murderhobos to kill the “Chosen One” - who anoyingly refused to stay dead…
Half of this would be enough to land on the Dark Side, Anakin Style…
After all, the Army of Light/Lightforged is kinda like the Jedi Order - eg. a cult with strong brainwhasing program…
The Lightfirged Shadow Priests are like the Fallen Jedi… or they just embraced their “Gods” darker aspect (a bit like the Kaldorei Night warrior)… who knows?
You could explain their existence if you really want…
when Lightforged Draenei and Void elves came, I instantly created 2 Priests…
a Holy and a Shadow priest, now you can guess which is which…
…
…
…
…
the Lightforged is shadow
the void elf is holy
because “why not” it is fun
I am surprised you haven’t seen that combination earlier/more often
Yeah I believe so! But I dont know why! Only did some of the priest campaign. I mean hes UD but then I guess its some kind of special lightflake treatment
