I have same problem

Here are the known workarounds to try until it’s fixed:

And don’t forget to report it in-game! More reports, more chance it’ll be fixed quicker.

had to put extra action bar into my bars just to ignore it :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey,

I can confirm that our developers are currently investigating this issue, where the Lighthook Grapple seems to be available outside of Naigtal. We don’t have more information to share about it at this time.

Bug fixes are often posted in our Hotfixes and Updates blogs, in the News section of the site. If you encounter another bug in-game, please report it to them, and they will be able to review it for you.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience!

Just experienced this as well. Another super annoying bug to the collection.

Also noticed this today - had to drag it onto my toolbars to be rid of it.

This is still bugged after the maintenance.

Drag it to your UI and dump it somewhere on your bars as a temp fix.

Yeah, but still extra button wants me so bad!

Yes, it is very annoying!

Good morning,

After investigation by the development team, this is apparently and technically working as intended, and we do not plan on changing how this works at the moment.

As always, if you have feedback that you’d like to share with our development team, you can do so in-game, on the forums, on your favorite social media site, etc.

Thank you all for your patience!

Should we be surprised reading this? :face_without_mouth:

I have no words to express my surprise at this decision.

Could you please explain what exactly changed between the first week of the patch — when the Lighthook Grapple was not permanently locked to the extra action bar — and the second week, when suddenly it is?

The difference is unclear, and many players for sure are confused about why this behavior is now considered “working as intended.”

Oh, and the difference between other extra action button abilities is that they disappear when you leave their specific zone (for example, the G-99 mount in Undermine). Meanwhile, the Lighthook Grapple stays on the screen in every single zone in the world. How can you not call this a bug?

Edit:

One small thing: When Lighthook Grapple is not placed on the action bar and stays on the extra action button, it prevents other extra abilities from working. For example, the Pocopoc ability in ZM won’t activate. Is this intended, I don’t think so.

The difference between the Grapple and lets say some other zone-specific extra button abilities like Call to Arms (Garrison) or G-99 Breakneck (Undermine) is that these two unlike the Grapple ability do not appear in the general category of the spellbook. Grapple contradicts the standard practice we’ve seen over the years.

This bug could have not happened on its own. Someone had made an intentional choice to introduce this into the spellbook and may have messed up ability properties completely when making panic adjustments to Naigtal.

I’m in Undermine right now and my Dragster Car agility is covered by the Grapple. It’s not just hovering over but think of it as a dominant layer inside of a Photoshop with 100% opacity. The artwork which usually surrounds these kinds of buttons isn’t even protruding from below/behind.

If I drag the Grapple to an Action Bar, the Dragster Car finally shows up.

What is even worse the last two expansions were full of these kinds of abilities and you’ve already found a solution to display the 2nd button right besides the 1st one. The UI frame would extend to accommodate two at once. Most of the time it would start clipping into other user interface elements making it look awkward, but it was never the case of one covering another (dual buttons were common in Dragonflight Hunts with dog/bird companions).
