the gear set is not even a tier set to begin with , it doesn’t have special effects and you can just go to tomb of sargeras and get a different color almost with no effort,
the weapon appearances however are something else, not because they’re no longer available but because they are hard to get,
let’s compare season 1 and two keystone master mounts of shadowlands , the season 2 one is what people would rather use more if they had both, why ? because season 1 is over and nobody cares anymore, and those who got it aren’t necessarily the best at the game, it just happened that they played back then
also about keystone master mounts, what if you don’t like the current season’s keystone master achievement , isn’t it fair to exchange it for another one?
what you’re asking for doesn’t make the game any better, yeah it will be wanted for whenever it’s available, but after that it’s over and it doesn’t mean anything honestly. it’s not a fair competiton if only a few people are able to participate, we’re not asking to just have the appearances we’re asking for our right to participate as well, and i could fail at getting them, that’s perfectly fine. but i shouldn’t be punished for not playing in X expansion
Then ask for better gear sets or shadow lands/anything other then legion themed unrelated weapon appearances. This isnt some closed system, blizz can make new cool stuff for you, so its clear that the only reason you want these looks is because you are jelous.

And my enjoyment of those artifact appearances won’t fade because others can go get them. If they have the skill and patience that I did back in Legion, they should have the chance to score that goal for themselves.
I don’t want Blizzard to just hand them over at an NPC vendor - I want the challenge to be there. Clearly, that’s not a problem from a technical position either, given the recent news on the tower.

Jeez why are people so precious about their past rewards? I played in Legion, but only got to collect the frost artifact appearance, because you know, it was quite hard to have multiple specs up to standard back then without no lifing hard. Couldn’t do the unholy one because I simply didn’t have any artifact power and my damage was awful! Now I’m maining UH…
So yeah, I would like if this mage tower gave another shot at artifact weapon skins.
What is the point on making AWESOME designs, then removing them?! Seriously?! It’s such a waste of the artists’ time. If people want to show off some kind of “oh yeah I was there for real” vibe, then that’s why achievements exist.
I can see the same thing happening now with the mount reward. If you complete all 7 challenges you get to have it. That’s cool, but I have never healed. I’m sure there’s people out there that have never tanked. Maybe somebody isn’t good at playing range whereas others find melee odd. So what now we’re supposed to go ahead and massively gear up some alts just to have a chance at getting a mount?! Is it impossible? No it’s doable, but if this is going to last only 2 weeks like the timewalking then the stress and expectation is waaaay to big! Unless they’ve down tuned the mage tower so much you can do it at 200ilvl easy or something.
In my case; no, that’s not why I want it.
I really liked the MM bow mage tower look. It’s a bit like an updated Rhok’delar and it has a cool ‘nature vibe’ that I can really appreciate.
But… Blizzard said that the artifact appearance would remain spec locked. So I didn’t get it, because I don’t enjoy MM and will always remain a BM hunter. Then they went back on their word and here we are…
I like the bow’s look because it looks nice. I like Rhok’delar, but this is a HD version of that weapon with much nicer texture and modelling. So yeah, I prefer this one. I don’t care if it’s common or rare or one of a kind. I like it for its look and theme.
That is not the point for me AT ALL. Not even close.
WoW to me has NOTHING to do with competitive play. Cooperative, sure. But not competitive. I am not a competitive person when it comes to games.
Blizzard must do the right thing. They don’t have to add the old skins, but they should at the very least give new alternative skins for the artifact weapons to all specs and classes. That way the old skins still hold their value for those who care about that.
WoW is infested by old players who have lived and breathed this stuff to the point where they forgot they’re playing a game (and Blizz forgot they’re making one).
They don’t play WoW for fun, but to feel better about themselves and nothing makes them feel better than having exclusive titles/items.
Then ask for a better unrelated rewards, blizzard can make new stuff
Anything can be a reward for the mage tower, by this logic a a unique pet or a tittle would be sufficient. Because as you said it would be hard to get. This isn’t a justification for you to get any of the appearances
This is a bad analogy because they are very similar mounts that both came out recently. Answering your question tho people prefer season 2 because less people have completed the season 2 achievement then season 1. Its not about s2 being over. By that logic more people would rather ride on the purple pheonix you get from the guild vendor over ashes of alar.
It actually does because blizz being believable when they say they are making something exclusive is extremely important because exclusive rewards are great player retention and growth tools. Ive resubbed/stayed subbed longer then I would have otherwise wanted a bunch of times for anniversary mounts and exclusive events.
Moreover having something you know other players cant get adds more sentimental value to your character, which makes you less likely to unsub and thus makes the game better.
At the end of the day blizz hasnt just run out of weapon or armour ideas, you do not have to be given those specific rewards the mage tower to give good looking rewards. Therefore the only reason you could want those rewards especially is if you where just jealous.

And it’s not even like that idea would go out the window. There’s exclusivity tied to conquering challenging content and having something to show off for it afterwards, and in that regard I don’t want the Mage Tower formula to change.
But that’s just it. When I see a werebear, I don’t think “oh wow, they played a tank in Legion.” I think “oh wow, that’s someone dedicated to tanking.” That wouldn’t change to me if someone went and completed the challenge in 2021 instead of 2016.

yeah becuase after the expac is over the drop chance goes down to 1% so its not special just because of its looks, its special because even after the expansion most people will never be able to get the mount just due to statistical chance.
It is fair because we all had the opportunity to play wow and get the appearances during legion.
As opposed to all those angry entitled players who only seem to be happy if they get everything other people have?

You can’t always get what you want, deal with it. It was advertised as a time limited event, simple as that. There’s tons of stuff other people have that I don’t, it’s not a big deal.
