List of enemy cooldowns to watch in TWW

Hello

I am a casual players only able to play once or twice a week. I play arenas as a healer, alternating resto druid and holy paladin.

I am very poor at recognising enemy cooldowns and in particular when enemy DPS are really dangerous. As you can imagine I am not a star.

I don’t have any rating objective but would still like to improve.

As I don’t have a lot of time to study all the classes, I wanted to ask if you could direct me to a The War Within updated list of enemy cooldowns to watch?

Many thanks.

you can download Weak aura’s that show them

but for argument sake the mains ones are as follows:

  • shaman - acendance
  • rogue - deathmark, cold blood, smoke bomb
  • hunter - trueshot, bestial wrath
  • deathknight - apolcapyse , army of the dead
  • paladin - wake of ashes
  • priest - psy fiend , void form, power infusion
  • druid - convoke, tiger , cyclone
  • monk - storm fire and earth, karma,
  • demon hunter - metamorphis, essence break, hunt
  • mage, ice form, icy veins, polymorph, combust
  • evoker , deep breath, dragonrage
  • warrior - bladestorm, avatar, stormbolt, sharpen blade, , colossus smash

What for you need to know cooldown on this? It barely deals any damage.

essence break increasing dmg taken by 80% for chaosstrikes and blade dance?
why would a healer want to know … dunno beats me i guess
//sarcasm

imagine not caring for an essence break set up

Weird list, and from my perspective it’s weird to check cooldown for burst rather then to have script to which burst press your cds

Shaman - ascendance, doom winds for enh
Rogue - deathmark/blades+dance to press cds, smoke to trinket
Hunter - trueshot, wild call (bw is useless to track or respond, low cd and no direct threat, usually u respond to started full cc vs them rather than cds, same for sv)
Dk - necro hand/pillar of frost
Paladin - final reckoning and second part of wings
Sp - break void torrent and burst after it
Druid - incarnation and landed cc
Ww - storm
Dh - meta duration and cc/micro cc his essence break
Mage - veins, combust
Evoker - u supposed to cc his empowered burst after surge, but I still frankly don’t understand their exact flow
Warlock - kick haunt or press def after it landed, kick/cc tyrant for demo
Warrior - recklessness/colossus

ill be honest i didnt put much thought into it,

just a starter pack for a newbie healer

You just put there a lot of things which don’t really matter, but can overwhelm newbie

You clearly never played dh if you think any of this abilitites do more than 500-600k dmg.

I play dh and this week I did 1m death sweep, in arena
And I dont have sockets for mastery and full enchants

1 mil crit in demon form - probably. But is it a lot of damage for burst setup or what? Its not even 20% of hp on strongest ability empowered once per 45 seconds.

The biggest damage of dh currently is demonsurge from heroic talents. Outside of meta its always 0 dmg

Here is the “damage” of blade dance into essence break on training dummy with 0 versa. (Spoiler:550k)

Thank you Axran. I really appreciate your response.

Even 1.1m crit, fel-scared covenant
sigil of flame + essence break

Also it can reset into another blade dance. And it is not main burst, eye beam does more dmg and it isn’t reduced by armor compared to blade dance

Details doesnt count overall blade dance dmg, because there is also aoe part. I think I can go more if i go another hero talents and stuck sphere proc + weapons enchants, but idc cause I play without WA

Since when 1.1 mil crit in burst rotation is considered big damage? Are you joking or what? Its literally 15% of someones hp.

The only dmg is abyssal gaze (empovered eye beam), thats all.

Thank you very much for the help!

If you are willing to use add-ons, there is one called GladiatorlosSA. It’s a voice add on that will call out cooldowns and important casts being used by enemy players, for example a mage trying to cast polymorph on you. If you are new to PvP it can feel a bit “spammy” in the start, because the default setting has alerts for most things. You can easily customize it though and simply check/uncheck boxes next to spells.

If I remember correctly, it also has tooltips for all the spells it’s tracking, so you can read up on what the different cooldowns and casts does.

The downside of using an add on like this, is you will probably get less practice with visual awareness of what’s happening.

Mes has a weakaura pack you can use.
