Literally NOTHING on AH for my level 72 rogue, all 80!

So yeah my level 71 Rogue is getting creamed by everything as her gear is pants so I went to the AH to buy some weapons and everything is level 80!. Items say level 70 etc but the only ones that can be bought are level 80, where is all the stuff I can actually USE? The quest rewards are all cash too so can’t even get anything that way, how do I get decent kit?

You can still buy some timewalking items from BC. Another source is those expeditions that don’t need to kill mobs but reward stuff. Also crafters can destroy 71 stuff (I’m surprised there is none in AH but you can always ask for a crafter).

Run timewalking for 2 hours, loot gear from there in the process, become 80, and then you can spend as much as you can swipe or continue to gear by running content. :stuck_out_tongue:

That said, if you´re really burning to spend gold on gear you´rll just vendor or disenchant 15-20 minutes later: in the auction filters (next to the search bar in the standard UI) you can set both a level range and click “useable items only”, that should keep the l80 items from showing up.

timewalking has horrible scailing from lvl 70-80 .

This is in no way timewalking specific, though, teh same issue exists with all content, this is simply the way the game is designed now, up until 10 levels of cap you can run around naked and oneshot raidbosses, and as soon as you hit 70 reality hits you like a ton of bricks.

But in 9/10 timewalking matches it makes 0 difference because of the level 11-20 fury warrior soloing the dungeon for you. And the changes to TW tuning did nothing to curtail that, it´s still just one roflstomp after the other. And more importantly, it still both drops loevel appropriate gear and takes less than 2 hrs to get to 80…

At some point one has to stop looking for easier and easier ways out and just start playing the freaking game.

First off: Get a dagger for your OH. The energy regen of Outlaw scales with the speed yes, the poison application does not.

Your gear from AH.

Helmet: Draconic Combatant’s Resilient Mask. Level 70. 451 ilvl. Next one is at 74 ilvl 506 (underscout’s cap)

Necklace: Malleable Pendant. 515-524 ilvl. Level 71

Cloak: Pioneer’s Perfected Cloak. 515-524 ilvl. Level 71.

Chest: Spelunker’s Leather Jerkin. 528. Level 71.

Gloves: Underscouts gloves. Level 71. 434. You can buy new gloves nearly every levle at the AH.

Belt: Spelunker’s leather belt. 515-524 ilvl. Level 71.

Shoulder: You can buy new ones at 73 if you really want to I guess.

Legs: You can upgrade every couple level here too. You already got legs tho.

Boots: Spelunkers again. Up to 528.

Rings: Spinner’s Hoop and Circlet. Malleable band. All the way from 70 up to level 80. Pick your poison.

Trinkets: PvP trinket. You can buy the insignia that gives you agi as a proc. Get the second slot from dungeons because its not worth the gold from AH.

Weapon: Daggers are at nearly every level. So are 1h slow weapons for the Outlaw MH.

There is a lot of stuff to buy off the AH or craft. All the way from 70 to 80.

I tried that on a lvl 70 alt with a horrible weapon.
Still got the 80 weapons only

Then something is possibly horribly wrong with your account, because timewalking drops have always for your current level, unless you´re being traded them by maxlevel chars.

I literally got a 526 cape 10 minutes ago on a now 78 rogue, so the system definitely still works as intended, for me at least.

But again, if all else fails, just spam it for 2 hrs and then farm or buy level 80 gear, either 541 for tw tokens, or 564 off the auctuon house or 580 for delve coins (AH and delve coin gear is identical in essence, the delve gear is just pre-upgraded to 580, but both max out @593 8/8 Adv.

Depends on how you look at it. While its nice to get hardcarried by some level 10 person oneshotting everything, i think its fair to say the scaling issue in low levels is way worse than 70-80.
While there was definitely a challenge when i tried to heal myself through those levels, most of that challenge came from me being bad and me constantly getting paired with Prot pallies who, for whatever reason, are made of wet paper in TW Dungeons.

The biggest problem is that the items show up at level 71 on the AH and when you buy them they change to 80 somehow. Spend a lot of gold on my hunter that way for nothing.

They show as 71 on the first window. When you click it and it expands it changes to 80 because 71 is the base for that item but it can drop/craft all the way to 80 but most items listed will be level 80 ones that dropped when world questing etc.

Yes, the UI is horsepoop in that regard.

There should have been some catch up gear in DF that would have been good enough to do TWW.
But they’ve stopped doing these catch up systems like Dauntless or Benthic.

All I can suggest is do DF WQs, I saw a 454 trinket as a WQ reward there yesterday. Although this would be slow. You’d likely get 1 or 2 pieces of gear a day and would take 10 days or a fortnight maybe to gear up.

This is what I was talking about, seems really weird to me that there is literally, nothing that I can buy and use at level 71 as it is all level 80… I wonder if that is deliberate on Blizz’s part but cannot see why they would make it so, odd imo.
As a footnote I should say that I have not played WoW for about 18 months so am still getting my head around it again, it seems there is quite a lot to relearn
Thanks for your comments btw, I have much to think about and try as a result…

Well, There was a month long prepatch event that offered itemlevel 480 for afking… And while you miss a “system” (which did exist in that exact form in DF S1.5 with the forbidden reach, btw) every patch raised the level of WG and weekly rewards by 26 levels. Even people’s most neglected alts generally had 500+ towards teh end, the only players coming in @480 or 467 were primarily fresh remix characters…

That said dragonflight leveling gear @300ish is more than sufficient for initial TWW leveling because 1 the content is tuned for undergeared potatoes that just started and leveled fresh through dragonflight and have exactly that level of gear, and 2: TWW quest rewards also give gear during the leveling process.

A lot of people complained about the level of event and remix gear preemptively as being way too low for leveling… and what happened when TWW came? It turned into a big, fat nothingburger, because leveling was never going to be tuned around maxlevel raid gear to begin with, and anybody that´s been playing for more than 1 expansion knows it, even if they might not want to admit it.

You were literally given a list of items you can buy off the AH.

You can lead a horse to water, but when it decides to die of thirst instead of drinking, you just shoot it and move on :beers:

Yes, I am sorry that I didn’t appreciate the effort that you had obviously gone to, to try to help me out, I have no excuse and can only offer my sincere apologies for being an idiot…

The blues you can buy on the ah for level 71. Just change the search to between and to level 71.
