It is hard, but I think the community are most concerned with playing together with their guilds and friends than faction imbalance.
After the hype there will be imbalance anyway as more could leave from one side than the other.
If people have made characters on each server so they can migrate then there can be imbalance anyway, just that it isn’t captured in the metrics.
You could try to manage it by managing total population on servers, ensuring they are around “half full” so there is capacity for more, then forcing migration from horde heavy to alliance heavy. Effectively closing 1 server and merging two.
Once people “quit” or play “less actively” (raid log) the balance hardly matters.
Number of character / players logged in recently doesn’t = balance.
We are all here in self interest.

theres already a faction balance system ingame so all are you talking is pure empty bullshiet, server is locked for the long queues not for a imbalance in the factions, when server exceds the 50/50 you cant create characters on the bigger faction.

Server launch was the same ac4oss the board. We all had equal opportunity to get into the game pre it being full.
Asking for the game to intentionally allow a server to fall into instability for the sake of the rule being bent however is simply self interest.
They launched a new servers to join.
Allowing peopel to pour into the crowded one eill just ensure the server goes dead on a week. And their all stranded on a dead realm
But imposing faction balance on release prevents players from joining their friends.
All I am suggesting is that this is possibly more important for the community than balance at this stage.
People are not able to play, or waiting to play, so the balance doesn’t really matter versus this?
Well that’s not quite true though. Yes, everyone unemployed and without kids had equal opportunity to join the servers.
Those of us who’s got a job and kids didn’t. We couldn’t stay up all night to log on, we couldn’t log on during the day on friday. If they’d have a name reservervation as they did for Classic release, this wouldn’t have happened.

But I paid for an option to play with friends on the server that has the most pop. With no warnings it can be locked, they said we created global servers that can contain everyone, we are proud of that instead.
Whats left now? I ran through start locations on Lone wolfe, Chaos bolt it has less and less pop within a hour. It almost has no people at 10-15 locations when Living flame has a really global huge server with a good potential.
everyone wants to play on the big main server, blizzard already put autobalance system, thats not the problem, stop talking about balance
