Living Flame - Meta server?

Regarding servers, is Living Flame the meta server or how is Blizzards way of working safe on the long run on SoD to ensure population? Haven’t really find answers if they work differently this time compared to regular classic release where lots of servers went empty in time.

Is it a smarter move to just go Living Flame (I have a character there at level 1) or continue with my level 25 toon at Lone Wolf and trust the server won’t die in longer phases due to meta server mentality?

Since my time is limited, I really wanna enjoy as much time in end game as possible and also “plan” for future phases without do too much re-leveling.

Another topic that comes up each time we talk about realms is faction balance on PvP realms. We’ve received a lot of feedback on this since 2019. We hear you, and with Season of Discovery, we’re going to try something new: this Season’s PvP realms have been designed to maintain faction balance as they grow. Yes, this is actually happening!
However, there is a potential cost to this faction balance that we want to make sure you’re aware of: if one faction is significantly more dominant on a PvP realm, there is a very real likelihood that faction selection may be temporarily limited on that realm. That said, our overarching goal for Season of Discovery is for it to be a fun and smooth experience, and we are prepared to change course if necessary. Your requests for faction balance have been heard loud and clear. This is a new direction for us, and one that we’re excited to try.

Again, this feature will only be turned on for our Season of Discovery PvP realms. You will always be able to roll either faction as you wish on PvE realms. We encourage everyone who isn’t committed to the challenges and difficulties of PvP to consider a non-PvP realm for Season of Discovery. As an old WoW veteran myself, I can tell you – playing on a balanced-faction PvP realm can be a double-edged sword.

As response to the first few “mega realm” occuring they temporarily locked these monitoring realm health.

there are many people myself included that are denied a spot on living flame because the server is apparently full. could you be so kind and delete your charecter if youre not going to play it thank you very much

I wouldnt play on Living Flame, it has GDKP raids already and everyone asking for gearscore etc, it’s been turned into a E sport server

For real?! Gear score at level 25 SoD? We did the raid with level 19 gear without any issues. And GKDP raids, damn… That’s not good at all tbh.

Yes, I saw groups asking for 170/180 Gearscore Yesturday and today I have seen GDKP for BFD. I’ve now unsubbed, massive shame but it is what it is

There are also raid groups formed without any reqs, or guild groups. The bar to entry is quite low since everyone can reach it relatively.

That’s a real shame. Makes me thinking to stay at Lone Wolf still since I haven’t seen those issues yet! People are just asking for free groups and more people to join for raids.

Of course you can make your own groups etc but once you start seeing these kinds of things it spreads like a cancer

It would be really nice to have one server where GDKP is allowed and one where it is not. It would be interesting to see what economic,bots,population,etc. look compared to each other. And we would have a place where we can play safely.

If it isn’t they will just swap it for equivalent valued items. It will be hard to ban trading in its entirety.

Bro I can share all gold selling website and all sellers actively selling gold. Are you going to do something related to them?
I mean if you are going to do why you didn’t do for 20 years. They didn’t even change the domain. They are not hiding, they are actively selling lol. If blizzard wants they can sue them so hard

Sharing is advertising which isn’t allowed, unless you want to make the problem worse. That and it’s not my job.

Blizard has sued cheat program makers and goldsellers in the past. Some of them are hiding in (s)low or no justice systems where the law simply doesn’t have anything against the goldselling business and therefore cannot be effectively taken to court or are heavily corrupt.

You know without gold seller there won’t be gdkp 90% of these gdkp joiners are gold buyers

Its a chicken or the egg, but imo its reversed: Without goldbuyers there will be very few goldsellers. There will be then always one shady dealer instead of a whole shop front.

Maybe Lone Wolf is the way to go since we are not having those issues compared to Living Flame? I just don’t want the server to be empty. It’s full now, but for upcoming phases to have a dead server and have to restart.

I think just an official announcement, with a threat of ban for any GDKP or similar system would be enough to motivate people who want to do something like that to pick a GDKP server and who hate that to pick another one. Same for botters, etc.

what do you think is the smartest way to check when the realm is again available? I did a check twitter but it doesn’t look like they publish this kind of info. And refreshing realm list looks really weird…

Well, refreshing the realm list the thing you’re already doing and checking the SOD forums for news.

I did manage to create a toon yesterday on the Lone Wolf realm when it was still Locked though, so you could try creation intermittently. Though I did not succeed at Living Flame.
