Loa for Zandalari monk

After so many years of RPing a monk(I hate not RPing my content main and I love mistweaver) one wants to try and do a monk without all the pandaren bits attached, zandalari seem like the perfect opportunity for that especially as a mistweaver player- A zandalari character who has the blessing of some loa to explain their in-game monk powers.

There’s obviously a lot of creative freedom with this, and I’m pretty sure you can already show e.g. Kimbul pretty well with a windwalker monk(Get some fist weapon claws and boom done) but what about other loa/other monk specs?
(Not even mentioning the possibility of a Zandalari worshipping the August Celestials as loa)

When i had a darkspear troll monk, i had them worshiping a snake loa which I made up at the time which also coincided with them having the jade serpent statue.

But you can quite easily have them worshiping the celestials as loa.

Maybe Kimbul?

It would be easier to pretend that you summon his spirit for combat to asist and not Xuen.
You’re also living in balance and harmony so the stuff Kimbul teaches.

Actually all the knowledge passed on via tablets would fit in the monk phylosophy.

You need to perfect body but also mind and patience. You need to be fast and strike true - like a tiger.

Kimbul be fierce, Kimbul be quick.
His claws be sharp much like his wit.

Kimbul prowls, he will endure.
His focus locked, his footing sure.
Suffer fools - Kimbul does not,
His mind be strong, his temper hot.

Once ya earn dis loa's trust,
His force be yours, his will be just.
He accepts only de best.
If ya got what it takes, be put to da test!

That’s what I’d do.

Also Sethraliss has restorative powers, so instead of jade serpent, why not cobra Loa?

In densest jungle of darkest green,
Rules mother of many, but rarely seen.
Warm and lush and full of life.
Iron will and without strife.

Her mind unfurls, envelops all.
Her faithful ever hear her call.
Across de ages her eyes do see,
Seeking de best for you and me.

Through darkest night, and brightest day,
She will ever find her way.
In her, ya haven will be found,
Her all for us, her care profound.

Love unsurpassed will surely be,
When Sethraliss ya truly see.

Sethraliss is actually a super cool idea, but it seems like after the thousand years ago battle between Sethraliss and Mythrax, not many Trolls actually worship her anymore, + you’ve got the whole thing with her only having been recently revived.

Though there is potential in RPing a Zandalari Troll who’s started worshipping this newly revived and powerful Sethraliss, perhaps even a casteless who was cast out to Vol’dun for whatever reason as the whole shebang was happening down there and then in all the tumult ‘found’ Sethraliss.

Well Kimbul is safe choice for a fighter.

Sethraliss is a hazard for the reasons you listed. She just came back to life so it could be a new follower.

It would explain the mistweaver part as well as ability to hurl jade lighnings.

Akunda could also work - as Loa of new beginnings and also master of storms.
But not as much as Kimbul I believe.

I would roll myself back into my Troll plans if Kimbul Devotees were actually a Troll Monk society. I’ve only left because the class didn’t feel so belonging to their race.

And with Blizzard’s tendency of lazy writing, I was afraid they’d pull that stupid: “Random Pandaren decides training Zandalari” regardless of their history kind of NPC.

But if they have a loa that deals in something similar to WoW Monk teachings, that would be cool. I say WoW Monks because I still honestly prefer Diablo Monk concept, concerning Ivgorod and the 1001 gods.

Also: Krag’wa or Akunda for Brewmasters nod

I’ve gotten a lot of Krag’wa suggestions in general whilst talking to people about this in discord, etc. People love the idea of using a monk to pull off this hobo-like swamp man, but have him at the very least have very strong legs - use monk mobility to showcase all the jumping and then ofcourse the kicks that one might learn to do if they follow Krag’wa.

Incorporate the brews monks use as stuff made from the swamp, insect paste, etc. Mistweaving itself doesn’t neccesarily need an explanation either as what better way to show healing magic from Krag’wa - a swamp loa - than a misty green beam.

Brewmaster might work even better for that so monk in general fits well with a Krag’wa priest, it’s a pity you’ll miss hex or rain of frogs that Shaman have but then you have stuff like the mobility/jumps/kicks that might come with.

But can Krag’wa create weather effects?

I’m not sure I’m buying this idea. Because Krag’wa followers are mainly witch doctors, not fighters - like we saw with Kimbul.

Kragwa is quite gluttonus himself too.
