I don’t know what on earth is going on. But the last time these zones got any updates except for a few added allied race NPC’s included was Cataclysm. Loading times are insane.
Thunderbluff , 2 mins 38 seconds to load. In Classic WoW , just under 18 seconds.
Ironforge 1 min 58 seconds to load in . Classic WoW , 26 seconds and that was at peak time.
I had a Pandaren hunter logged out at Ratchet , 2 mins 17 seconds. Decided to take the same test in classic. 15 seconds.
Before you ask , yes , yes i do have a SSD. So what is the difference ? Before you go HD textures all that jazz. I had absolute no loading times issues until 8.2 in bfa. Since that patch it just getting slower and slower and slower. What gives?
Yes deleted cache. I run 8 addons i like to keep it minimal as possible.
Just for comparison , in Witcher 3 i can load into Novigrad on this PC and takes me less than 40 seconds to load in at ultra high settings.
So anyone can offer a solution ? Same with going on a boat of zepplin , sometimes the loading screen is so long , i get disconnected from the game.
Uhm if my internet connection isn’t acting up the toughest to load zones take ~5-10 seconds and my PC is ~5 years old now, have you updated your drivers and set up your things properly? Classic I load in in 3 seconds even at times.
If your drivers are not a problem, I’d highly advise to check your temperatures (either in your BIOS or download Speccy). For a month or so I had ~130FPS less because I accidentally damaged the thermal paste on my CPU without knowing about it, and I just ruled it over as Shadowlands being poorly optimized.
A routine phsyical PC cleaning is also good to do to clean out dust that may be affecting performance.
Idk, it honestly sounds like a pc thing. 15s to 3 minutes? That’s bonkers. If it takes more than 5 here I consider it an error. And this is on a 7 years old machine.
What can it be…
Anything from your AntiMalware acting up to your SSD failing, CPU throttling, background programs, extremely unstable internet connection…
Or, it could be as happened to me… For some reason I have 2 WoW’s installed on my computer, and I had changed the default WoW to be on the non SSD after an update(problems started after one of the patches had been downloaded). That’s a very special thing to do, but yes, check if your retail is actually on your SSD still. If you have one.
