Well, for me it come from my stepfather holler me to come see spider eat its pray when I were kid. Always had unreasonable hate of spiders since and wish to exterminate them if I see one, but wow is very cartoonish and not cause such reactions for me and I think could even have one as a pet for hunter if so wished
Arachnophobia or some degree of it seems to be quite common in general, a bit like a fear of heights I guess. Spiders and especially large ones are just not very nice looking creatures, it doesn’t help if they look so menacing.
No. They did it because people were getting simulation sickness when skyriding. Removing the visual effects and adding a ring and darkening the sides is the opposite of making it immersive? They’re pretty on the ball with that. Had the same with Vashjir originally, the way the water wibbled… ugh.
No but if you just look at covid for example, the world worked together and managed to change things so everyone could function in lockdown and suddenly the world was a whole lot more accessible for disabled people - now it’s gone back to how it was before nearly and it absolutely sucks. Just because you can’t achieve 100% doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.
I didn’t get nauseous or anything, but the swirling/swooshing effects around the mount were unbearable for me. It really messes with my mind and eyesight. I turned all of it off as soon as I could.
Even the less intrusive swirling effects in Ve’nari’s Refuge in the Maw were unpleasant for me and made me always rush through that place back in the days of Shadowlands.
Yeah I get overstimulated visually by a lot of extra effects and new games with modern graphics. Maybe partly why I enjoy older zones more… a lot more simplistic looking.
You mean the one he opened for people to discuss on and where people now are posting in and using it for what forum is meant for, but it is his right to change the topic of his own thread for sure
Oh, what I glanced it looked like discussions related phobias which seemed to be the topic. Then some disputes and arguments which is also usual here, and Im not against arguments in general aslong it stays on the matter and not become anything else. It seem one of the busiest threads for the moment so op were successful in creating discussions and which is the purpose of the platform anyway, it is kinda ironical if he then wishes to close it but it is his right to change topic of the thread in any case
I only have it with certain types of spiders, like those longlegged hairy fast wolfspiders , but I had a pretty chill cross spider ìn my house, I wanted to throw her out at first but thought whatever shes just sitting in her net killing pests, I was actually kinda sad when she suddenly vanished after the summer.
Its useful creature but its appearance is too off putting, 8 eyes and multiple hairy legs and moves toward you in rapid fashion moving all of those legs at once is just nightmare fuel for me
Heya, if you read my 2 posts related my fear of spiders and this one which you quoted me from you can see what I said related wow and spiders too
I can quote it if you didnt bother to read what you quoted me from
Now this would translate as that I dont need the feature in wow nor do I fear spiders in the game of world of warcraft. That is what it literally says atleast.
There is different degrees of arachnophobia though, even if we dont find them off-putting enough in wow it might be that some do, theres that feature for it added in game that people can decide to use or not and its not really away from anyone as it doesnt give of any sort of advantage. Lets just let people with more severe phobia have that feature which turn all spiders into funny looking crabs in the game its not away from us
