Hi
I’m not sure how to solve this problem. My desktop battle net login session expired today (Still logged in on mobile). I discovered my physical authenticator battery had died. I’ve tried support but get stuck in an AI loop. I turned on sms verification, my phone number is correct but I don’t get the verification codes. Removing the old dead authenticator requires a code from said dead authenticator or an sms code that won’t arrive. What do I do? Where do I post if not here? Why can’t I get the verification code via e-mail?
If you use Outlook, Hotmail, or Microsoft Live for email, they seem to silently eat Blizzards emails, without even sending them to spam.
That said, on your old authenticator should be printed a “Serial” and “Restore” code, which you used to be able to input into the mobile authenticator, to continue using the mobile authenticator without needing to remove and re-add an authenticator.
I’ve seen some reports though that in their Munificient Wisdom, Blizzard decided to remove that feature too. So I’m not sure its still possible.
Clicking on mobile authenticator only tells me i need to remove the physical first, which I’m unable to do since the sms codes won’t go through.
There should be a cogwheel, which when clicked, used to offer you a “Serial and Restore” code option for you to input the codes, has that gone?
Edit: it seems they changed the process:
Pretty sure that restore option is only for restore codes from mobile authenticator.
Thats a pity, it never used to be like that ![]()
I think I finally figured out how to open a ticket without any codes needed. Thanks for trying to help, guys. We’ll see what they reply.
I bet they only gave you copy pasted BOT replies? Thats what theyre doing to me.
