How would the community feel about longer time options on the AH?
Personally I’d love to see a 72hr option added, maybe up to 7 days.
i would absolutely love this
Why not indefinite?
You post a ware and the initial cost is [insert the value].
Then after per agreement, 12h (cheapest), 24h (cheap), 48h (moderate), 72h (high), you make a repayment through the mail system.
Or it’s just in the AH itself, you have to go there to either cancel or repay, and to know what’s up you get a mail about it, that there’s wares waiting for reconsideration.
There you could possibly lower or raise your price as well. But the ware was already planted, so you just had to push “confirm” and it’s done.
Could also be automatical withdrawal ofc, and then the cost would be the highest, I suppose.
Key would be to make reposting less demanding. And even make it so that you can just set a price: 999999 million for your peacebloom, and then it would constantly withdraw money until someone bought the peacebloom year 3234, or when your funding ran out to keep the sale up.
Thing is that they want to keep us a bit busy. And an automated system is good for the industry, or the professional traders, which may be less good for the market; perhaps. I wouldn’t know who would benefit the most or what effects it would have, I can just speculate.
But for me it would be good if I could just set a price and forget about it, preferably forever. Then the issue would become that I do forget, and then I would lose all my money having set the peacebloom to the ultimate price.
So I guess that idea may be not so good. But why not a week then? High premium.
Isn’t the time limit there to fluctuate the prices more, and to make bids useful?
I don’t know, but makes sense.
But there’s not too many items out, and if there are items out they are all on buyout only.
I put them on bid too, but it’s just because I’m such a nice guy and I figure that if I put something at 500g and 100g bid, I have a better chance getting rid of the junk. Others don’t do that from what I’ve seen.
Edit: And wares, like reagents, never go on bid, only buyout.
That’s just because most things are useless these days. If you play on classic, random items have a lot more use and therefore sells. A lot of the items on retail have lost their value after various changes to proffessions mainly, but the servers are also old and less people leveling professions for example(often because they have completed them already. There are also more quests on classic that uses random items you can sell on the AH. Retail barely have this concept anymore.
And before someone go ballistic on me for mentioning classic, I did NOT say classic is better. I just brought up what elements retail no longer have, which helps the variety of the AH market. That includes younger servers.
in gw2 AH works better than in wow and you don’t have to relist the items, unless you want to
Might be. I was never much of a AH player. I do love the efficiency of the anniversary servers + the MoP server now though. Any white item I put on the AH seems to sell, giving me plenty of gold early on, and feels more rewarding that just vendoring everything below max level. It is also no point having it out for more than 8 hours.
I am not against it, but I can see technical reasons why it’s not there, mainly database space and speed.
In another thread 2 days ago I posted a system with soft-caps for quantities of items. This could allow for longer postage days as well.
