Is it? It’s clear that “RP” means standing around in cathedral square pretending to be a medieval knight? The only -actual- rule for an RP server as far as i’m aware is your name has to be an RP friendly one. There is no rule on what constitutes valid make-believe, this is why guilds exist.
Because it’s a non-issue, maybe stop trying to keep an imaginary gate and just enjoy RPing with your pals instead?
Oh I don’t, but all this “lol not personally, dont just be fragile lfmao” tough guy attitude comes across as not only really dismissive but extremely immature and rather salty.
Alot of people, myself included, have had alot of issues with griefing and disrupting roleplay. Just because you don’t considering it a non-issue, doesn’t mean it isn’t.
Also as said several times already, no one is arguing that you must rp 100% of the time, and then nothing else. But it is completely fair and valid to ask why someone who openly states they don’t like roleplay, never will, and never want to touch it, would join a roleplaying server. Especially when just going by past similar situations, it is exactly those kind of people who become griefers.
I said I had been trolled before, who hasn’t? It’s always going to happen.
I asked you to qualify several things about the trolling you said you faced and you didn’t, you rather chose to be personally attacked by me saying that a lot of RPers are fragile.
It doesn’t mean it is either, see how meaningless this entire argument is?
This isn’t what happened though. This person immediately got told to get off the server because they said “I’m not into roleplaying THAT MUCH” - They got responded to with this “This is a rp realm. If you dont plan to roleplay go and find another server”
So yeah, the situation you describe, it’s “valid” to ask somebody why they don’t want to roleplay on a roleplay server. It’s not valid to say “GET TF OUT OF MY SERVER REEE” when somebody says they want to find a social guild on the server (Which Blizzard doesn’t disallow)
So…maybe look at it in the lens of what is actually being said here, rather than what you seem to have decided has been said?
“I’m not into roleplaying that much” doesn’t even imply they -don’t- Roleplay, but it’s entirely moot, as not everyone has the same perception of what roleplay actually is.
Why is this casual scrub making a stand against roleplayers when the OP even admitted to being clueless despite loitering on the realm for over a decade?
Incredibly short-sighted, to be honest. That attitude drives away anybody who -might- want to get into RP, for something that has literally no impact on your RP.
Distance it from trolls, what are you actually saying? You don’t want people to just be in the same server, who you will likely never even see, because they don’t fit into your view of what “RP” constitutes?
The amount of “Non-Rpers” who are not in active content areas, or the trade district in SW is so small, and even when they do run through, sometimes it’ll just be a curious “Oh I wonder what these folks are doing” (Not talking about people who grief RP, they shouldn’t be on the server, as that -is- clearly actively ruining RP)
By your logic, should someone who does content 99% of the time but RPs once a year be on the server?
I mean, the guy told me to come back to him when I had experienced trolling, so it was somewhat relevant? I didn’t just throw it in there for no reason.
Or would you prefer I give a list of everytime I was trolled whilst RPing?
